Reversibly attachable pressure-resistant cap for an endoscope sleeve, configured to seal a distal tip of the endoscope sleeve during pressurized inflation of the sleeve to assist insertion of the endoscope into the sleeve. The cap is operable to latch onto the distal tip. The cap is also configured to be easily removed from the distal tip after inflation is no longer needed.

An endoscope decontamination sheath includes a terminal section for seeing therethrough for an image and a sleeve section connected to the terminal section for receiving an endoscope to insert therein. The terminal section is of a tubular configuration. The terminal section has a front end to which a lens is mounted and a rear end in which an insertion groove is formed. The sleeve section is of an elongated tubular configuration having a front end fit into the insertion groove of the terminal section. In medical treatment of endoscopy or intubation, the endoscope is inserted into and sleeved with the sleeve section, and the endoscope sleeved with the decontamination sheath is inserted into an endotracheal tube. The matched arrangement between the lens and a lens of the endoscope helps prevent image deterioration and thus making images clearer. The decontamination sheath, after use, can be disposed of to prevent cross infection.

The system may additionally comprise light source(s) to illuminate cervix tissue; sensing device(s) to generate signal(s) from light and/or to acquire image(s) of a portion of a cervix; and processor(s) in communication with the sensing device(s). The system is configured to: (i) analyze the signal(s); (ii) detect the size of the cervix; (iii) determine parameters defining properties of the cervix; (iv) determine and distinguish normal tissue from abnormal tissue within the cervix; (v) determine the location of area(s) of abnormal tissue in the cervix; and (vi) generate a panoramic view of the cervix.

The driven member is rotatably provided on the base section and configured to be rotated by a rotation drive section of the robot arm through the drape adaptor. The holding section holds an endoscope rotatably about a rotation axis, the endoscope including an insertion section including an image capturing section provided at a distal end of the insertion section and a body section connected to the insertion section, wherein the rotation axis extends in a direction in which the insertion section extends. The transmission mechanism is configured to transmit rotation of the driven member to the holding section holding the endoscope.

The protective sheath includes an inner sheath (1) and an outer sheath (2), which are sleeved together, the outer sheath (2) has a cylindrical structure, the inner sheath (1) includes a straight cylindrical portion and a bell mouth portion, the bell mouth portion is located on an insertion end side of the inner sheath (1), a side wall of the bell mouth portion is provided with a plurality of grooves extending from the bell mouth portion to the straight cylindrical portion, and a plurality of elastic sheets (12) are formed at the insertion end of the inner sheath (1); a connecting portion cooperating with a self-locking quick connector (7) is formed on the inner wall of each elastic sheet (12); and a hollow cavity is disposed between the inner sheath (1) and the outer sheath (2), and a compressed waterproof jacket (3) is disposed in the hollow cavity, one end of the waterproof jacket (3) is fixedly sheathed on the inner sheath (1), and the other end of the waterproof jacket (3) can be pulled through a non-insertion end of the protective sheath. The protective sheath is lightweight, compact, and easy to operate. The protective sheath effectively protects the electrical connecting lines from being contaminated during use, thereby preventing short circuit, contamination and other situations, furthermore, the protective sheath is low in production cost and can be used as a disposable medical device.

The method includes: measuring with a processor module an aggregate activation time of the surgical instrument during the surgical procedure; and activating an endoscope cleaning system with the processor module to clean a lens of the surgical instrument after the processor module determines that the measured aggregate activation time of the surgical instrument has reached a target duration.

INTRAORAL SCANNER SLEEVE AUTHENTICATION AND IDENTIFICATION

Apparatuses, including sleeves, intraoral scanning systems to use these sleeves, and methods of using the sleeve, that authenticate the sleeve for use with an intraoral scanning system. Authentication may include verifying that the sleeve is new (unused) and/or verifying that the sleeve is appropriate and/or intended for use with the intraoral scanning system. Once authenticated, operation parameters of the intraoral scanning system can be automatically set based on information from a scanned identifier on the sleeve.

Antibacterial coatings and methods of making the antibacterial coatings are described herein. A first branched polyethylenimine (BPEI) layer is formed and a first glyoxal layer is formed on a surface of the BPEI layer. The first BPEI layer and the first glyoxal layer are cured to form a crosslinked BPEI coating. The first BPEI layer can be modified with superhydrophobic moieties, superhydrophilic moieties, or negatively charged moieties to increase the antifouling characteristics of the coating. The first BPEI layer can be modified with contact-killing bactericidal moieties to increase the bactericidal characteristics of the coating.
