Multi-Stage Seatback Extension System
A multi-stage seatback extension system is disclosed. In embodiments, the multi-stage seatback extension system includes a backrest base assembly, an extendable backrest assembly, and an extendable headrest assembly. The extendable backrest assembly is moveably coupled to the backrest base assembly such that it can be pulled away from the backrest base assembly or pushed toward the backrest base assembly. The extendable headrest assembly is coupled to the extendable backrest assembly so that the headrest assembly can also be extended (or retracted). In this regard, the extendable backrest assembly and the headrest assembly implement a multi-stage (e.g., two stage or more) seatback extension system.
PASSENGER SEAT WITH MOVABLE BACKREST PORTION
A passenger seat having improved backrest comfort features. The passenger seat has a backrest with a movable portion. In one example, the movable portion is defined by an upper backrest portion that can slide up and away from a lower backrest portion to provide a gap between the two portions. The gap 5 may provide an arm or elbow rest for a seat occupant. The movability of the backrest can also provide enhanced comfort for the seat occupant by allowing adjustability of the head rest portion. In other examples, the movable portion comprises the entire backrest of the seat. When in a raised position, the backrest may also provide enhanced privacy to the seat occupant.
SEAT FRAME
A seat frame includes: a first side frame and a second side frame; a structural member connected to at least one of the first side frame and the second side frame; and a coupling member welded to the at least one of the side frames. The coupling member has a cylindrical portion, a closing portion, and a protruding portion having a smaller outer shape than the cylindrical portion, and protruding outward in an axial direction of the cylindrical portion from the closing portion. The at least one of the side frames is provided with a protruding portion insertion hole that allows insertion of the protruding portion and has a shape smaller than the outer shape of the cylindrical portion. The protruding portion is welded to the at least one of the side frames while being positioned in the protruding portion insertion hole.
INTERLINKED PLINTH ATTACHMENT SYSTEM FOR AIRCRAFT SEATS
A plinth attachment system for attachment to at least one track includes: a first plate having a first side configured for mounting to a longitudinally extending track, and a first mounting feature for mounting a first structure; and a second plate having a first side configured for mounting to the track, and a second mounting feature for mounting a second structure. When mounted on the track, at least one interlinking feature of the first side of the first plate and at least one interlinking feature of the first side of the second plate interlock at the track, and, the first mounting feature and second mounting feature are aligned at essentially equivalent longitudinal positions.
Mechanism for a supine motor vehicle seating assembly
A seat assembly forming a substantially horizontal plane for an exposed surface of each of a lower seat cushion and a seatback cushion of a seatback comprises a lifter mechanism for a rearward edge of the lower seat cushion. The lifter mechanism comprises a bracket pivotable about a transverse bar fixedly mounted to a frame assembly for a lower seat assembly, the bracket comprising a forward lever and a rearward lever; and a link pinned at a first end to the seatback and pinned at a second end to the rearward lever by a slot. The rearward edge of the lower seat cushion is initially raised by the forward lever upon the seatback pivoting to a predetermined reclined position and the rearward edge of the lower seat cushion is raised to the substantially horizontal plane upon the seatback pivoting to a fully reclined position.
Vehicle seat with secure interlocking panels
A vehicle seating unit comprising a seat frame, a back panel, and a seat panel, the seat frame has a horizontal portion adapted to receive the seat panel and a vertical portion adapted to receive the back panel. The seat panel and the back panel are attached to the horizontal portion and the vertical portion by a plurality of panel fasteners and seat frame fasteners. The back panel top edge is secured to the vertical portion by a retaining cap, while the seat panel front edge is secured to the seat frame by a retaining hook. The back panel and seat panel are positioned in an interlocking arrangement whereby the back panel lower edge pushes downwardly against the seat panel, preventing the seat panel rear edge from being detached. The panel and seat frame fasteners prevent disengagement by hand, but can be overcome by a lever to facilitate maintenance.
MOVABLE VEHICLE MODULE SYSTEM
A vehicle module system is disclosed. The system includes a track assembly operably coupled with a body of a vehicle. One or more modules may be removably and slidably coupled with the track assembly. The modules include base structure defining an attachment point. A rail feature is disposed along a bottom portion of the base structure. An attachment feature having a retainer for removably coupling to the attachment point to the base structure.
MOLDED FOAM BODY
According to the present invention, in a plan view of a seat surface (10a), a plane area of a part surrounded by an inner edge (17a) of a rear part (17) in a left-right direction (X) and a contour (L) is larger than a plane area of a part sandwiched by an inner edge (18a) of a front part (18) in the left-right direction (X) and the contour (L) in the left-right direction (X). In addition, a part of a pair of left and right second synthetic resin materials forming a lower part having a maximum gap therebetween in the left-right direction (X) is positioned in a thigh rest part (14) and a part having a minimum gap is positioned in a hip rest part (15), and a maximum value (W1) of the gap between the pair of left and right second synthetic resin materials forming the lower part in the left-right direction (X) is two times or more a minimum value (W2) of the gap in the left-right direction (X).
Adjustable seating systems and associated structures
Structures of seating systems for human users are disclosed. In one embodiment, the structure comprises: a frame; a seat structure supported by the frame; and a back rest structure supported by the frame. The seat structure comprises a thigh support region and a pelvic support region where the pelvic support region defines a pelvic well for receiving an ischial tuberosity of the user and also provides a fulcrum to assist in rotating the pelvis of the user. The back rest structure comprises a gluteal panel for supporting a gluteal mass of the user and a posterior superior iliac spine (PSIS) panel disposed above the gluteal panel. The PSIS panel is adjustable to cause movement of a PSIS of the user and cooperate with the pelvic well to cause rotation of the pelvis of the user about the fulcrum provided by the pelvic well.
FINISHER-CONNECTING STRUCTURE AND VEHICLE SEAT
A finisher-connecting structure for connecting a front finisher, which is disposed on one part of a vehicle seat, and a side finisher, which is disposed on another part of a vehicle seat, comprising a connection protrusion provided to the front finisher, and a connection recess that is provided to the side finisher and that fits with the connection protrusion; wherein the connection protrusion and the connection recess extend in a direction that intersects a direction in which the front finisher and the side finisher are continuous; wherein the fitted-together connection protrusion and connection recess regulate the front-rear-direction positions of the front finisher and the side finisher. In this connecting structure, which connects a pair of finishers using a connection protrusion and a connection recess, an unnecessary gap, such as a V-shaped gap, is prevented from being formed in the connected portion of the finishers.
