SEAT OCCUPANCY SENSOR
A seat occupancy sensor includes: a first sensor group having a plurality of first sensor cells that are arrayed in a front-rear direction of a seat and become conductive as a load is applied thereto; a second sensor group having a plurality of second sensor cells that are arrayed in the front-rear direction, farther on a front side of the seat and closer to an end of the seat in a width direction than the first sensor group, and that become conductive as a load is applied thereto; and an electronic control unit. The electronic control unit determines that someone is sitting on the seat when both of at least one of the first sensor cells and at least one of the second sensor cells become conductive.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DETECTING THE PRESENCE OF NON-SELF-SUFFICIENT OCCUPANTS AT THE BACK SEAT OF VEHICLES
It is herein described a system such of that implemented in a vehicle (1) having front and rear doors (2) (3) provided with door opening sensors (S.sub.M; S.sub.D, S.sub.E) and one indicative sensor (ST) of locked door. A processing unit (4) calculates, by measuring the time the door remains open as well as by the sequence and/or frequency of openings and closings the doors (2, 3) of the vehicle (1), the possibility of a non-self-sufficient occupant have been forgotten inside the vehicle; and controls the actuation of an alarm (A1, A2, Al) in the event of said calculation indicates the possibility of an occupant non-self-sufficient have been forgotten inside the vehicle. The system identifies the possibility of an occupant has been introduced inside the vehicle when the opening time of the rear door is longer than time T1, and identifies the possibility of an occupant has been forgotten in the vehicle by means of the information processing sent by the door sensors.
Child safety seat anchor assembly
The problem of a front seat occupant moving the front seatback so far so as to interfere with the proper positioning of a rear-facing child safety seat or to touch a child's legs while sitting in a front-facing child safety seat is solved by transforming the lower anchor into a segment of an electrical circuit with a normally open switch that is forced to the closed position when a child safety seat attachment system has attached to the lower anchor and the vehicle prevents the front seat from moving beyond a present distance toward the rear seat. The closing of the electrical circuit can be used to supply an input signal to a controller in the vehicle programmed to notify the operator that a child safety seat has been attached to prevent the front seat from moving beyond a fixed distance from the rear seat.
System and method for setting a three-dimensional effect
A system for setting a three-dimensional (3D) effect includes a memory seat for transmitting and receiving memory seat information of a driver and a 3D cluster for matching the memory seat information and 3D effect setting information and allowing the driver to set the 3D effect or set a two-dimension (2D) mode.
ACTUATING MODULE FOR A VEHICLE SEAT
A module for a vehicle seat comprises a drive cable, an actuator, and a transmission assembly. The actuator is coupled to the transmission assembly to drive the transmission assembly. The drive cable is coupled to the transmission assembly and moves as a result of the actuator being activated.
Vehicle seatback
A seatback includes a lower frame, an upper frame, and a hinge coupling the lower and upper frames. An actuator is fixed relative to the lower frame, and a cable extends from the actuator to the upper frame. In the event of a collision, the actuator pulls the cable, and the upper frame moves from an upright position to a bent position relative to the lower frame.
Low-Cost Weight Measurement and Sensing System
A low-cost weight-measurement and sensing system is provided. The system may include a sensor assembly configured to be mounted between a floor pan of a vehicle and a seat of the vehicle. The sensor assembly may include a plurality of sensor modules. Each sensor module of the plurality of sensor modules may be configured to sense a force applied thereupon and generate a reading representative of the force applied thereupon in response thereto to provide a plurality of sensor readings. The system may also include a control module connected to the plurality of sensor modules. The control module may be configured to determine a weight of an occupant of the seat of the vehicle based on the plurality of sensor readings.
Sensor Module For Use in Low-Cost Weight Measurement and Sensing System
A sensor module for use in a low-cost weight-measurement and sensing system is provided. The sensor module may include a substrate configured to be mounted between a floor pan of a vehicle and a seat of the vehicle. The sensor module may further include a force sensing element disposed upon the substrate. The force sensing element may be configured to sense a force applied thereupon, and generate a reading representative of the force applied thereupon in response thereto to provide a sensor reading. The sensor module may also include a wiring harness connected to the force sensing element. The wiring harness may be configured to transmit the sensor reading to a control module. The substrate may define an aperture configured to surround a fastening element used to fasten the seat to the floor pan of the vehicle.
Vehicular occupancy assessment
Systems, devices, and techniques are provided for occupancy assessment of a vehicle. For one or more occupants of the vehicle, the occupancy assessment establishes position and/or identity for some or all of the occupant(s).
