Lamp assemblies and methods are provided for controlling one or more operating parameters of at least one controllable aftermarket light source of a vehicle. One example lamp assembly includes an aftermarket light source and a controller. The controller includes a storage medium configured to store a defined sequence and an operating variable. The controller is configured to capture an input signal sequence via at least one factory input device in the vehicle, determine whether the input signal sequence corresponds to the defined sequence, capture an input control signal via at least one factory input device in the vehicle, and in response to determining the input signal sequence corresponds to the defined sequence, modify the operating variable based on the input control signal. The operating variable is associated with an operating parameter of the aftermarket light source.

Vehicular exterior rearview mirror assembly with blind spot indicator element

A vehicular exterior rearview mirror assembly includes a mirror reflective element sub-assembly having a mirror reflective element, a mirror reflector coating, a mirror back plate, and indicator element. The indicator element includes a circuit board and a light source. The indicator element includes a diffuser that diffuses light emitted by the light source. An icon is established through a metallic reflector coating disposed at the glass substrate. The icon includes a light-transmitting aperture. With the vehicular exterior rearview mirror assembly attached at the vehicle, and when the light source is activated, light emitted by the light source passes through a light-transmitting portion of a heater pad and through the light-transmitting aperture of the icon. With the vehicular exterior rearview mirror assembly attached at the vehicle and when the light source is activated, the icon is illuminated and is viewable by the driver of the vehicle.

MIRROR REFLECTIVE ELEMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY FOR VEHICULAR EXTERIOR REARVIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY

A mirror reflective element sub-assembly for use in an exterior rearview mirror assembly of a vehicle includes a mirror reflective element, a mirror reflector and a mirror back plate disposed at the rear side of the mirror reflective element. A heater pad is disposed between the mirror reflective element and the mirror back plate and has a light transmitting portion that is aligned with an aperture of the mirror back plate. A blind spot indicator module includes a body portion and a connector portion extending laterally from the body portion. Light emitted by at least one light emitting diode passes through the light transmitting portion of the heater pad and through a light-transmitting portion of the mirror reflector and exits the mirror reflective element to provide a visual icon visible to a driver of the vehicle who is driving the vehicle and who is viewing said mirror reflective element.

Side-mounted direction indicator for vehicles having a plurality of light sources disposed on a common carrier and an optical unit associated with the plurality of light sources

A remote light switch system for mobile structures is disclosed. The system includes a power harness, an enclosure with a connector for engaging a light harness, and a control with a wireless module, a switch, and a controller. The control allows a user to selectively activate the electrical connection to the light features on the mobile structure. The system also includes an antenna attached to the enclosure and connected to the control. The system can be wirelessly controlled via a remote control, smartphone, tablet, or laptop. The enclosure can be attached to the mobile structure using a trailer attachment. The system can be used with various types of mobile structures and power sources.

Warning light controller

A controller for a warning light is disclosed. The controller is composed of a housing, a light emitting element and a control unit. The control unit is in operable communication with the light emitting element of the controller and a light emitting element of a warning light. The controller instructs the light emitting element of the warning light and the light emitting element of the controller to display light in the same lighting mode, which allows vehicle operators to immediately know the lighting mode of the warning light by viewing the lighting mode of the controller.

Method and apparatus for providing a supplemental light source to a motor vehicle

Methods and apparatuses provide a supplemental light source, such as a strobe light, for a motor vehicle. An adapter may be provided to mount a supplemental light source to an existing primary light source, such as a parking and turn signal light bulb. A wiring assembly may interconnect the supplemental light source with a controller, such as a switch. The combined primary and supplemental light sources may then be inserted into a vehicle light housing through an existing light bulb aperture, without creating additional apertures or otherwise modifying the light housing.

Switching device for vehicle headlight

A switching device for a vehicle headlight of a vehicle having an Adaptive LED Headlight (ALH) mode. The switching device may include a steering column lever switch supported on a steering column of the vehicle so as to be movable between an initial position and a predetermined moved position by a moving operation input, an ALH switch configured to receive a switching operation input that sets the ALH mode, and a controller configured to change the irradiation mode of the headlight according to a position of the lever switch and the switching operation input received by the ALH switch.

CAMERA BASED HANDS-FREE POWER LIFT GATE

A method and system for a camera based hands free power liftgate is described herein. The system may power on following a key approach and/or the doors unlocking and then initialize. If there is an approach detected, the lights may be activated and the gesture detection feature of the system may then determine whether a gesture was detected. If a gesture was detected, the liftgate may then be activated. If no gesture was detected, the lights may be activated. For example, if there is a key approach, the system may power and initialize. The system may then determine whether an approach is detected. If an approach is detected, lights of the vehicle may activate and a determination whether a gesture is detected is made. If a gesture is detected, a liftgate of the vehicle may be activated.
