Side-view mirror mounted bird deterrent system
10814787 · 2020-10-27 ·

The vehicle-sider rear-view mirror mounted bird deterrent system delivers an electric shock to scare birds away. The bird deterrent system includes a shock strip, a sensor, a microcontroller, a power source, and a vehicle-side rear-view mirror. The vehicle-side rear-view mirror can be any rear-view mirror of a commercial or passenger vehicle. The shock strip is a thin flexible strip that attaches onto an exterior face of the vehicle-side rear-view mirror. The shock strip is positioned along the side rear-view mirror and covers most of the flat surface which the bird is likely to stand on. The sensor is operatively connected to the shock strip, wherein the sensor transmits a signal to the microcontroller when it detects a bird standing on the shock strip. The microcontroller completes a circuit between the power source and the shock strip, thereby creating a flow of electrical current capable of delivering an electrical shock.

A side-facing brake light assembly, including a left side-facing brake light incorporated into a left side view mirror and a right side-facing brake light incorporated into a right side view mirror, the left and right side-facing brake lights operable by an electrical circuit. Both the left side-facing and right side-facing brake lights are positioned and directed such that drivers and pedestrians on both the right side and the left side of the vehicle can see when the brakes of the vehicle have been applied, especially useful as the vehicle approaches an intersection. The side-facing brake light apparatus of the invention more effectively communicates the intention of the driver as he/she approaches the intersection, thereby increasing the safety of other drivers and pedestrians. The side-facing brake light apparatus of the invention helps to avoid serious collisions, property damage, and loss of life due to misunderstandings of other drivers and pedestrians.

CAMERA ARM OF A CAMERA-BASED MIRROR SUBSTITUTE SYSTEM FOR A MOTOR VEHICLE
20200317130 · 2020-10-08 · ·

A camera arm of a camera system for a vehicle comprises a first structural element connecting the camera arm to the vehicle and a second structural element comprises at least one camera. A fastening for the at least one camera offers protection against external damaging influences on the fastening, the camera arm, and on all elements, devices, and modules arranged thereon. The camera arm comprises a variable-volume fluid vessel, connecting the first and the second structural element to one another. At least one restoring element connects the first and the second structural element to one another. The restoring element exerts a force on the second structural element in the direction of the first structural element. The force is varied as a result of the amount of fluid in the fluid vessel, such that the second structural element is moved relative to the first structural element by the varying force.

A vehicle side mirror (22) housing (12) base (17) and mirror (23) to view behind you. A vehicle side mirror (22) is concealed and revealed through an opening in the vehicle body (11) automatically when started, turned off, in park, in autonomous mode or manually with a switch, key fob or voice command. When concealed in the container (16) the vehicle allows for more room to pass and less damage to the un-exposed vehicle side mirror (22), when driving or in autonomous mode the vehicle side mirror (22) is concealed thus the vehicle can have an increase in fuel economy do to the decrease of the drag coefficient.
