Display Health Check System For A Digital License Plate
A digital license plate comprising includes a display system capable of showing a first image and a power supply rail connected to the display system. A display controller is provided with a data connection to the display system and arranged to measure at least one of power consumption and impedance of the power supply rail. The display controller is further configured to prevent sending a second image to the display system if display failure is indicated by measured power consumption or impedance as being below a defined threshold.

This is achieved by a licence plate body of the licence plate having at least one cavity, and a front of the licence plate body or a coating of the front of the licence plate body covering the cavity comprises a slot structure forming the antenna.

An illuminated vehicle sign comprises a receptacle having an internal cavity with a light reflective internal surface. A cover over an end of the receptacle comprises one or more orifices opening into the internal cavity from an outside of the receptacle. The orifices are dimensioned and/or relatively arranged in accordance with one or more markings or alphanumeric characters. The orifices provide for ingress of air into the internal cavity from the outside of the receptacle and for emission of light from the internal cavity. A vent in the receptacle is positioned relative to the orifices to provide for egress of the air from the internal cavity. A light source is disposed within the receptacle to emit the light through the internal cavity and out of the orifices. An apertured screen is disposed inside of the internal cavity that is spaced apart from the cover.

A method and system for creating readily identifiable discrete markings on an application surface of an object. The system comprises a stencil having a cutout openings forming a discrete identifier, and a marking reagent comprising an organic solvent, isopropyl alcohol, and a metal marking component. After applying the stencil to an application surface, the marking reagent is applied to the application surface via the cutout openings. The marking reagent may then etch the discrete identifier as well portions on an interior portion of the application surface. In some applications, the system may be applied to a surface having dirt and grease. In addition, marking reagent may embed a cured portion of the marking reagent within the well portions

Systems, apparatus and methods related to electronic vehicle registration and tag displays, specifically a vehicle license plate frame containing multiple low power e-paper type displays configured to replace the stickers used for vehicle registration and parking authorizations as well as provide indication of purchased parking increments and/or allow for display of advertisement or other messages. The system may also allow the display of driver or vehicle specific information such as the user's driver's license number or insurance at the request of a third party authorities such as the police. The system allows for use of a mobile computing device having software connected with the internet to access a server allowing for communication with various registrations authorities including the DMV, municipal parking authorities, and private parking authorities. Displays may be overwritten and changed depending on the location of the vehicle and need to provide display of certain authorizations.
