Active grille shutter with pedestrian protection
A grille assembly for a vehicle is disclosed and includes a forward frame portion, an aft frame portion, and a plurality of spring portions coupling the forward frame portion to the aft frame portion such that the forward frame is movable relative to the aft frame portion. A front end assembly for a vehicle is also disclosed that includes a bolster assembly and an active grille shutter system supported relative to the bolster assembly. The disclosed active grille shutter system includes a plurality of spring portions coupling forward and aft frame portions such that the forward frame is movable relative to the aft frame. Vanes are supported by at least one of the forward and aft frame portions and are rotatable for controlling airflow.
Communication device and method for vehicle
Disclosed are a communication device and method for a vehicle, the device including a housing, an external lens structure covering an open front region of the housing, an internal lens structure mounted in the housing and covered by the external lens structure, a liquid crystal section mounted on the internal lens structure, configured to become transparent or opaque based on whether or not power is applied thereto, and a bezel disposed behind the liquid crystal section, such that the bezel becomes visible from an exterior of the communication device upon the liquid crystal section being controlled to be transparent.
MASKLESS METHOD OF PRODUCING A COMPONENT HAVING A TWO-DIMENSIONAL APPEARANCE
A method is provided of producing a component part for a motor vehicle. That method includes the steps of molding a first portion of an integral body from a chrome-platable material and molding a second portion of the integral body from a molded-in-color, non-platable material. This is followed by the applying of a chrome plate layer to the chrome-platable material. A component part or exterior grille made without masking and painting steps is also disclosed.
VEHICLE BODY FRONT STRUCTURE
A vehicle body front structure includes a hood provided at an opening formed in a front part of a vehicle, a bumper located more frontward than the hood, and a grille provided as a part of the bumper. Each of the hood, the bumper, and the grille is at least partially provided with an identically inclined surface portion such that when viewed in a plane perpendicular to a vehicle width direction, positions of surfaces of the hood, the bumper, and the grille that are adjacent to each other are flush with each other in an out-of-plane direction.
