20230274554 · 2023-08-31 · ·

A method of processing a vehicle image includes obtaining a first image from at least one vehicle exterior camera when a vehicle is in a first position. An obstructed area is identified in the first image. At least one previously captured image is obtained from the at least one vehicle exterior camera when the vehicle is in a second position different from the first position. An unobstructed area of the at least one previously captured image that corresponds to at least a portion of the obstructed area of the first image is identified. The unobstructed area is stitched into at least a portion of the obstructed area to create a corrected image that corresponds to the first image with at least a portion of the obstructed area removed. The corrected image is displayed on a display in the vehicle.

The imaging unit is configured to capture an image of a rear of a vehicle. The color temperature detection unit is configured to detect a color temperature of a captured image. The color temperature sensor is installed at a front of the vehicle to detect a color temperature of incident light. When a difference between the color temperature of the captured image and the color temperature of the incident light is a color temperature threshold value or greater, the white balance adjustment unit is configured to switch from a first white balance adjustment based on the color temperature of the captured image to a second white balance adjustment based on the color temperature of the incident light.

Rearview device simulation

A method for displaying and processing an image captured by an optical system used to simulate a rear-view system of a vehicle, includes capturing the image, identifying primary edges of a first image of the plurality of images, locating a first border within the first image that extends to part of a first edge of the first image, identifying secondary edges of a second image of the plurality of images, selecting a second edge from the secondary edges closest in position and orientation to the part of the first edge of the first image, locating a second border within the second image that extends to the second edge, and adjusting the second image such that a second part of the second border of the second image aligns with the first border of the first image, wherein the optical system simultaneously simulates both a plane mirror and a spotter mirror in form of a spherical mirror in the single image to provide a plurality of optical subsystems.

VEHICULAR CAMERA WITH ENHANCED HEAT DISSIPATION

A vehicular camera module includes a camera housing, an imager printed circuit board and a processor printed circuit board. An imager is disposed at a first side of the imager printed circuit board. A heat transfer element is accommodated in the camera housing and is in thermal conductive contact with an active cooling element and with a second side of the imager printed circuit board or the processor printed circuit board. Circuitry of the camera module is electrically connected to electrical connecting elements that electrically connect to a wire harness of a vehicle when the vehicular camera module is disposed at the vehicle. With the electrical connecting elements electrically connected to the wire harness of the vehicle, heat generated by operation of the vehicular camera module is drawn from the imager printed circuit board to the camera housing via the heat transfer element.
