METHOD FOR PROVIDING VISUAL INFORMATION ABOUT AT LEAST PART OF AN ENVIRONMENT, COMPUTER PROGRAM PRODUCT, MOBILE COMMUNICATION DEVICE AND COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
The invention relates to a method for providing visual information (29) about at least part of an environment (16), the view onto which is at least in part concealed by a first vehicle (4) travelling ahead, wherein the first vehicle (4) is detected, the visual information (29) is requested, and in case of an availability the visual information (29) is received. Further, at least one image (25a) of a certain part of the environment (16) including at least part of the first vehicle (4) is captured and displayed together with the visual information (29) embedded in the at least one image (25a). Moreover, in case at least one object (O) is present in the certain part of the environment (16), the displaying of the visual information (29) is modified such that image parts representing the at least one object (O) are not covered by the visual information (29).
METHODS AND APPARATUS TO ADJUST A REACTIVE SYSTEM BASED ON A SENSORY INPUT AND VEHICLES INCORPORATING SAME
A conventional vehicle typically behaves like a single rigid body with fixed characteristics defined during the design phase of the vehicle. The rigid nature of the conventional vehicle limits their ability to adjust to different operating conditions, thus limiting usability and performance. To overcome these limitations, a reactive vehicle may be used that includes a sensor and a reactive system. The sensor may monitor the position and/or orientation of an operator, the vehicle operating conditions, and/or the environment conditions around the vehicle. The reactive system may adjust some aspect of the vehicle based on the data acquired by the sensor. For example, the reactive system may include a video-based mirror with a field of view that changes based on the operator's movement. In another example, the reactive system may include an articulated joint that changes the physical configuration the vehicle based on the operator's movement.
A METHOD OF INTEGRATING CAMERAS IN MOTOR VEHICLES, CORRESPONDING SYSTEM, CIRCUIT, KIT AND MOTOR VEHICLE
A vehicle such as a motor car (V) equipped with a radio equipment (14) is provided with a rearview camera 5 (10). Video frames from the rearview camera (10) are received at the radio equipment (14) and transmitted to a mobile communication device (S) such as a smart phone equipped with a video screen (S1) so that video frames from the rearview camera (10) are displayed on the 10 video screen (S1) of the mobile communication device (S).
Driver-assistance device, driver-assistance system, method of assisting driver, and computer readable recording medium
A driver-assistance device includes: a memory; and a processor including hardware. The processor is configured to: acquire both line-of-sight information on a line of sight of a driver and image data resulting from imaging surroundings of a vehicle; set a display position and display contents of an image generated from the image data based on the line-of-sight information; and output the display position and the display contents together with the image.
Adjustable blind spot monitor
The disclosure includes embodiments for adjusting a blind spot monitor on a vehicle to improve safety of the vehicle. In some embodiments, a method for the vehicle includes detecting a change in a heading of the vehicle. The method includes modifying an operation of the blind spot monitor on the vehicle based on the change in the heading of the vehicle so that performance of the blind spot monitor is enhanced to improve safety of the vehicle in a scenario when the vehicle changes the heading.
VEHICULAR MONITORING SYSTEM WITH INTERIOR VIEWING CAMERA AND REMOTE COMMUNICATION
A vehicular monitoring system includes a camera disposed at a vehicle and viewing interior of the vehicle. The camera is operable to capture image data. Image data captured by the camera is provided to a data processor and is processed at the data processor. A wireless communication link links the vehicle with a remote communication device located remote from the vehicle. The remote communication device, responsive to communication received from the vehicle via the wireless communication link, displays video images derived from image data captured by the camera.
Method and apparatus for operating a camera-monitor system for a motor vehicle
A method for operating a camera-monitor system for a motor vehicle, in which the camera-monitor system has a camera that is designed to provide an image of an environment of the motor vehicle and has a monitor for representing images from the camera comprises providing an image from the camera, ascertaining an attention-relevant object in the environment, temporarily changing at least one representation property of the image in dependence on the ascertained object to form a changed image, and representing the changed image on the monitor.
Vehicular vision system with accelerated determination of an object of interest
A vehicular vision system includes a control disposed at a vehicle. A camera is disposed at an in-cabin side of the vehicle windshield and views forward of the vehicle. During a driving maneuver of the vehicle, the vehicular vision system, responsive at least in part to an output of a radar sensor, detects an object that is located within the radar sensor's field of sensing and outside of the camera's field of view and determines movement of the object relative to the vehicle. During the driving maneuver of the vehicle, information pertaining to movement of the detected object toward an area within the field of view of the camera is provided to the control. During the driving maneuver, and responsive to the provided information, and with the detected object present within the camera's field of view, the vehicular vision system determines that the detected object is an object of interest.
Surround view system and method thereof
The present invention is directed to a surround view system and method thereof. The surround view system comprises a surround image sensing module which obtains images of surrounding view and output image data, a vehicle status retrieval module which retrieves vehicle status information, a processing module which generates adaptive surround view based on the image data and the vehicle status information; and an outputting module which outputs the adaptive surround view.
System and method for measuring and reducing vehicle fuel waste
One way to improve fuel efficiency of a vehicle is to detect the vehicle operational shortcomings related to fuel consumption by determining whether fuel used during operation of the vehicle is normal fuel use or wasted fuel use. Considerations of idling, speeding and inappropriate gear shifts are some ways to measure the amount of fuel wasted due to operator shortcomings. Communicating this information to the operator in real-time so adjustments can be made will improve vehicle fuel efficiency. These techniques are applicable to tracking employment of other driving best practices as well.
