A vehicle reverse assistant includes a rear side sensor, a towed object detector, and a stop determination threshold distance setter. The rear side sensor is provided at a rear portion of an own vehicle. The rear side sensor senses a rear side sensing region. The towed object detector detects whether a towed object is connected to the rear portion of the own vehicle. The stop determination threshold distance setter sets one end of a stop determination threshold distance at a position spaced apart at a constant distance from a rear end of the towed object on a basis of a sensing signal supplied from the rear side sensor when the towed object detector detects connection of the towed object.

The own vehicle includes a windshield. The vehicle surroundings monitoring apparatus includes an image generator and an image display. The image generator is configured to generate an image expressing an environment of the surroundings of the own vehicle. The image includes an own vehicle forward image having a view substantially equivalent to a view of a forward region of the own vehicle that is viewable by an occupant of the own vehicle through the windshield at a time of normal driving of the own vehicle. The image display is configured to be disposed on forward side of the occupant of the own vehicle and faces the occupant, and to display the image generated by the image generator.

Vehicle Backing Assistance System
20170282800 · 2017-10-05 ·

A vehicle backing assistance system is described. The vehicle backing assistance system includes a first device and a second device. The first device includes a camera, a microphone, a light, an ultrasonic proximity sensor, a significantly waterproof body, and a battery. The first device can then be releasably connected to a rear end of a vehicle. Images, video, audio, and depth sensing are collected by the first device, which are then transmitted to the second device at a remote location. As a result, a user can monitor the images, video, audio, and depth sensing using software on the second device that are collected by the first device while located away from the second device. For instance, the user could monitor that rear end of a vehicle while being located at a front cab of the vehicle. This can be useful when the user is backing the vehicle.

REMOTE CONTROL APPARATUS

A remote control apparatus capable of communicating with a control apparatus of an autonomously running work vehicle via a communication apparatus, the remote control apparatus comprising a communication apparatus, a control apparatus, a display apparatus, and cameras for obtaining images of the front and rear, wherein the display apparatus is provided with at least a remote control region for controlling the autonomously running work vehicle, a peripheral image region for displaying images captured by the cameras, and a work status display region, wherein the peripheral image region is provided with a frontal view and a rear view.

Embodiments of the present invention provide a method, system and computer program product for cognitive parking guidance. In an embodiment of the invention, a method for cognitive parking guidance includes initially receiving in memory of a computer either an express or implied definition of a navigation waypoint for a specified vehicle. The method also includes retrieving from over a computer communications network into the memory of the computer, a set of available parking spaces within a pre-specified distance of the navigation waypoint and loading into the memory of the computer a context of the vehicle. The method yet further includes filtering the available parking spaces in the set into a subset of one or more available parking spaces in accordance with the context. Finally, the method includes displaying a location of a selected one of the parking spaces in the subset in a display of the computer.
