SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR DETECTING OBSTRUCTIONS IN A CAMERA FIELD OF VIEW
A system mounted on a vehicle for detecting an obstruction on a surface of a window of the vehicle, a primary camera is mounted inside the vehicle behind the window. The primary camera is configured to acquire images of the environment through the window. A secondary camera is focused on an external surface of the window, and operates to image the obstruction. A portion of the window, i.e. window region is subtended respectively by the field of view of the primary camera and the field of view of the secondary camera. A processor processes respective sequences of image data from both the primary camera and the secondary camera.
Vehicle window cleaning apparatus
Apparatus for cleaning a window of a vehicle is provided. The apparatus includes: a fluid extraction opening provided on the vehicle in proximity to the window of the vehicle; a suction pump mounted in the vehicle; and a fluid tight conduit extending between the fluid extraction opening and the suction pump.

Method for regulating a resistive element intended for deicing and/or demisting a support, and the associated device
A method for regulating, with a computer, a resistive element arranged to deice and/or demist a support, the method including: a) a loop for monitoring the temperature T and the moisture level H at the support; b) a deicing and/or demisting sequence which, as long as the temperature T and the moisture level H monitored by the monitoring loop a) are indicative of an absence of frost or mist on the support, keeps the resistive element inactive and, in the contrary case, demands, in a step b2), the circulation of a current I in the resistive element so that the latter dissipates a thermal power P.sub.th, adjusted according to the temperature T and the moisture level H, and providing deicing or demisting of the support over a predetermined period D.sub.p.
INFRARED HEATER
An infrared heater having at least three infrared emitters arranged in a housing, wherein a solution is created for suffusing as large a solid angle as possible with infrared radiation, wherein the majority of the infrared radiation is emitted in the direction of the space to be heated, and a costly water cooling of the housing can thereby be avoided. This is achieved in that the housing (3) has a front plate, wherein the infrared emitter is oriented in parallel to the front plate and the infrared emitter is oriented transverse to the front plate, wherein the infrared emitters have a flat emission surface, and the greater portion of the occurring infrared radiation is emitted in the direction of the front plate.
DE-ICING DEVICE, IN PARTICULAR FOR ARRANGEMENT IN A DASHBOARD OF A VEHICLE
A de-icing device (2) is provided for arrangement on a dashboard (1) of a vehicle. The de-icing device (2) has an elongated channel (3) open on at least one side. The elongated channel (3) is configured to provide a heat flow (13). The de-icing device (2) also has a light emitter (4) arranged in the elongated channel (4). A dashboard (1) that includes the de-icing device (2) also is provided.
Control apparatus for vehicle
A control apparatus for a vehicle includes an input signal detector and a processor. The input signal detector detects an input signal that is based on a predetermined switch operation of a switch in the vehicle. The processor controls a defroster of the vehicle and an idle reduction, on the basis of the detection of the input signal performed by the input signal detector. The input signal detector includes a first detector that detects rising of the input signal that is based on the switch operation, and a second detector that detects falling of the input signal that is based on the switch operation. The processor drives the defroster on the basis of the detection of the input signal performed by the first detector, and prohibits the idle reduction on the basis of the detection of the input signal performed by the second detector.
Temperature sensor device for a windshield of a vehicle
A temperature sensor device for sensing a temperature of a windshield of a vehicle includes a single printed circuit board having a circuitry, a temperature sensor mounted on the printed circuit board, and a thermally conductive pad attached to the temperature sensor. The thermally conductive pad is arranged to thermally and mechanically directly contact the windshield.
VIBRATOR-ATTACHED VEHICULAR WINDOW GLASS AND VIBRATOR-ATTACHED VEHICULAR WINDOW GLASS SYSTEM
A vibrator-attached vehicular window glass includes: a vehicular window glass including a first glass plate including a first main surface with a water repellent coating; and a first vibrator configured to apply a vibration to the first glass plate, in which the first vibrator is configured to vibrate at an excitation frequency of 10 Hz to 100,000 Hz.
LIDAR SYSTEMS AND METHODS
A LIDAR system includes at least one processor configured to control at least one light source for projecting light toward a field of view and receive from at least one first sensor first signals associated with light projected by the at least one light source and reflected from an object in the field of view, wherein the light impinging on the at least one first sensor is in a form of a light spot having an outer boundary. The processor may further be configured to receive from at least one second sensor second signals associated with light noise, wherein the at least one second sensor is located outside the outer boundary; determine, based on the second signals received from the at least one second sensor, an indicator of a magnitude of the light noise; and determine, based on the indicator the first signals received from the at least one first sensor and, a distance to the object.
