An apparatus and method for improving functioning of at least a portion of a subject's nervous pathway system includes a garment or device worn or disposed on the subject; and at least one stimulator disposed on, in or within the garment or device capable of providing at least one corrective non-weight stimulus to the subject's nervous pathway system. The kind of nonweight stimulus provided by the stimulator to the subject's nervous pathway system, the amount, degree or intensity of the stimulus provided by the stimulator to the subject's nervous pathway system, and/or the body location of non-weight stimulus provided by the stimulator to the subject's nervous pathway system is determined by a reiterative diagnostic method leading to an optimal response for the treated subject.

Analysis of skin coloration

This document relates to computer-based systems and techniques for analyzing skin coloration using spectral imaging techniques to determine a medical condition of an individual. This document further relates to providing feedback to a rescuer or other medical professional based on the colorimetric properties of the patient's skin.

SEPSIS DETECTION AND MONITORING

A sensor device includes a housing defining a cavity, an inlet to receive fluid pumped from an instrument device, an outlet to return the fluid to a fluid reservoir, and a fluid channel defined inside the cavity between the inlet and the outlet. A heat pump is mounted inside the cavity, and has a side surface thermally coupled to the fluid channel and an opposite side surface thermally coupled to a plate. The heat pump is configured to induce a temperature change. A sensor unit is aligned with an aperture in the plate and includes an optical component and a thermal component. The optical component configured to measure a vascular endothelial response from the induced temperature change.

A biomagnetic measurement system includes a magnetism measurement apparatus configured to measure a magnetism of a target; and an electrical stimulation apparatus configured to apply a stimulation current to the target. The magnetism measurement apparatus includes a confirming unit configured to confirm a magnitude of an artifact caused by the stimulation current. The electrical stimulation apparatus is configured to output a compensation current for reducing the artifact after the stimulation current is output, based on information from the confirming unit.

METHOD FOR DERIVING AND STORING EMOTIONAL CONDITIONS OF HUMANS

One variation of a method for deriving and storing emotional conditions of humans includes: writing timeseries biosignal data, output by a set of biosensors in a local device coupled to a user, to a rolling buffer spanning a look-back duration; in response to a trigger event at a first time, retrieving a set of biosignal data, spanning a first period of time preceding the first time, from the rolling buffer; transforming the set of biosignal data into a timeseries of emotions exhibited by the user during the first period of time; generating a visualization of the timeseries of emotions; and rendering the visualization of the timeseries of emotions on a display.

Method to Detect Brain Functional Activities Using Hyperpolarized 129Xe MR
20200268911 · 2020-08-27 ·

Described herein is a method for detecting changes in blood flow in a tissue portion and/or body portion of an individual. The method can be used to detect any sort of pathology, trauma or insult which results in blood flow change. Specifically, this method uses hyperpolarized 129Xe MRI to detect xenon perfusion changes in tissues such as brain tissue that corresponds to changes in blood flow, for example, changes caused by functional activities of the brain or regions of the body where blood flow may be compromised.
