METHOD AND DEVICE FOR CONTROLLING HYBRID VEHICLE

According to a control method for a hybrid vehicle that is caused to run by a drive motor as a load being supplied with electric power of a battery and electric power generated by an electric generator, a total distance to empty is calculated on the basis of a shortage of a generating power output of the electric generator with respect to a required running power output and an amount of charge remaining in the battery. Specifically, a length of time for which the shortage of the generating power output of the electric generator with respect to the required running power output is covered by the amount of charge remaining in the battery is calculated, and a distance that the hybrid vehicle can run for this length of time is set as a total distance to empty.

Battery recharge notification and automatic recharge

A vehicle includes a low-voltage battery, a high-voltage battery, and a converter that decreases voltage provided from the high-voltage battery to the low-voltage battery. A system controller of the vehicle is programmed to use the converter, in a key-off cycle, to charge the low-voltage battery a calibrated number of times that the low-voltage battery drops below a predefined state-of-charge threshold, and send a wireless notification a subsequent time the low-voltage battery drops below the threshold. A notification is sent to a predefined contact address when a periodically computed state of charge of a low-voltage battery of a vehicle falls below a predefined threshold. Using a converter, voltage provided from a high-voltage battery of the vehicle to the low-voltage battery is decreased to charge the low-voltage battery responsive to receipt from the contact address of a response indicating approval of the charge.

AUTOMATIC DRIVING CONTROL SYSTEM FOR VEHICLE

An automatic driving control system includes power sources, a relay device changing connection states of the power sources, a relay control device controlling the relay device, a status recognizing unit recognizing a status of the own vehicle on a planned traveling route, and an automatic driving control unit controlling automatic driving. The status recognizing unit recognizes that a collision probability of a collision with an object during the automatic driving is a predetermined threshold or more, and also recognizes a damage-expected power source included in the power sources and expected to be damaged in a collision with the object. When the collision probability is the predetermined threshold or more, the automatic driving control unit instructs the relay control device to disconnect the damage-expected power source from particular auxiliary units and to connect, to the particular auxiliary units, a power source that is not the damage-expected power source.
