A smartphone or other mobile computer device, general purpose or specialized, wherein the smartphone device is configured to actively control the configuration of one or more bladders, compartments, chambers or internal sipes and one or more sensors located in either one or both of a sole or a removable inner sole insert of the footwear of the user and/or located in an apparatus worn or carried by the user, glued unto the user, or implanted in the user. The one or more bladders, compartments, chambers, or sipes, and one or more sensors are configured for computer control. A sole and/or a removable inner sole insert for footwear, including one or more bladders, compartments, chambers, internal sipes and sensors in the sole and/or in a removable insert; or on an insole; all being configured for control by a smartphone or other mobile computer device, general purpose or specialized.
ORTHOPEDIC INSOLE
An orthopedic insole may include at least one strength layer and at least one shock absorbing layer. In one embodiment, the strength layer may be relatively rigid and includes a heel portion and an arch portion, contoured to fit the plantar or bottom surface of the foot to provide arch support. The shock absorbing layer may include a plurality of shock absorbing cells such as recoverable honeycombs or any other negative stiffness structure with the capability to recover. A gait analysis that may include an individual's weight transfer trajectory may have to be conducted to determine the structure of the shock absorbing layer. The orthopedic insole may further include an adjusting layer to supplement the strength layer and the shock absorbing layer to make adjustment to the orthopedic insole if needed.
SOCK WITH PRESSURE SENSOR GRID FOR USE WITH TENSIONER TOOL
A system for assessing laxity of a joint of a patient is disclosed. The system comprises a tensioner tool having a substantially rigid portion that may be inserted within the joint to apply a force against a bone surface thereof. The system further comprises a tensioner sock having a flexible body with an opening to receive the tensioner tool and a sensor array disposed on the flexible body. Each sensor of the sensor array is configured to contact the bone surface and detect a pressure when the force is applied against the bone surface. The system further comprises a processor configured to receive the detected pressure from each sensor and calculate the force applied to the bone surface based on the detected pressures.
SYSTEM, METHOD, AND APPARATUS FOR MULTI-SPECTRAL PHOTOACOUSTIC IMAGING
Certain embodiments describe a system, method, and apparatus for multi-spectral photoacoustic imaging. A method, for example, can include receiving multi-spectral photoacoustic image data from a photoacoustic imaging system. The method can also include pre-processing the multi-spectral photoacoustic image data. The pre-processing can comprise determining a number of significant components above a noise floor of the multi-spectral photoacoustic image data. In addition, the method can include detecting tissue chromophores based on the number of significant components from the multi-spectral photoacoustic image data using an unsupervised spectral unmixing process. The unsupervised spectral unmixing process can include clustering and windowing of the multi-spectral photoacoustic image data. The method can further include displaying the detected tissue chromophores in an abundance map.
TREATMENT OF PELVIC ORGAN PROLAPSE
The present invention relates to the diagnosis and treatment of pelvic floor prolapse. The diagnosis and treatment may involve the use of a multiple sensor-enabled device for vaginal insertion capable of providing real-time data regarding the pa -tient’s physiology, the position and movement of the urethra, and the muscular strength of the patient’s vagina and pelvic floor. The methods and devices of the invention may also be useful to addressing other medical issues, including urinary incontinence, sexual health, and fecal incontinence, as well as facilitate patient home wellness activities.

SHEAR AND NORMAL FORCE SENSORS, AND SYSTEMS AND METHODS USING THE SAME
Sensors capable of sensing shear and normal forces and suitable for measuring reaction forces on a body region of an individual, and systems and methods. Such a sensor includes a first plate and multiple second plates that are separated from the first plate by a dielectric material to define multiple capacitor units that are each responsive to normal and shear forces applied to the sensor. Each capacitor unit comprises an individual second plate of the second plates and a portion of the first plate that is superimposed by the individual second plate. The second plates are superimposed on the first plate so that a shear force applied to the sensor causes a first portion of at least one of the second plates to not be superimposed on the first plate while a remaining portion of the second plate remains superimposed on the first plate to define a superimposed area therebetween.
Catheter insert including one or more sensors
In some examples, a device includes a catheter insert elongated body defining a body lumen, the catheter insert elongated body being configured to be at least partially inserted to a catheter lumen defined by a catheter without covering a first fluid opening of the catheter and to form a fluidically tight coupling with the catheter, and one or more sensors positioned on the elongated body. At least one of the one or more sensors are configured to sense a substance of interest. The catheter insert elongated body includes a material that is a substantially non-permeable to the substance of interest.
Biological information detection device and biological information detection method
Provided is a biological information detection device including: an image acquisition unit that acquires an image composed of image signals including a plurality of wavelength components obtained by capturing reflected light from an object; a region division unit that divides the image into a plurality of regions for each frame; a local pulse wave detection unit that detects a pulse wave based on wavelength fluctuation between frames for each of the regions; and a blood pressure estimation unit that calculates propagation velocity of the pulse wave based on an appearance time difference of patterns of the pulse waves in two or more regions extracted based on an appearance order of the patterns of the pulse waves in the plurality of regions, and estimates a blood pressure based on the propagation velocity of the pulse wave.
