Determining driver engagement with autonomous vehicle
A method, system, and computer program product of controlling driver interaction with an autonomous vehicle (AV) system for a vehicle are provided. In an embodiment, a signal indicating a present state of the driver is received. A signal indicating a past state of the driver is received. A present effectiveness of the driver is determined based on the received signals. A target level of engagement of the driver with the AV system is determined based on the present effectiveness of the driver.
Vehicle control system, vehicle control method, and storage medium
A vehicle control system includes: a recommended lane setter configured to set a recommended lane in which an own vehicle is to travel along a route to a destination; a reception unit configured to receive an operation by an occupant of the own vehicle; and an automatic driving controller configured to control steering and acceleration or deceleration of the own vehicle such that the own vehicle travels in the recommended lane set by the recommended lane setter. The automatic driving controller is configured to change a lane of the own vehicle to another lane different from the recommended lane and is configured to control the steering and the acceleration or deceleration speed of the own vehicle such that the traveling in a lane of a lane change destination is maintained until a predetermined condition is satisfied when the reception unit receives a predetermined operation.
REMOTELY SUPERVISED PASSENGER INTERVENTION OF AN AUTONOMOUS VEHICLE
Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for managing user intervention for a vehicle are provided. One of the methods includes: receiving an instruction to initiate an intervention session from a server, and providing, in response to receiving the instruction, a user interface associated with the intervention session for display on a terminal associated with the vehicle. The method further includes detecting, at the terminal, a user interaction corresponding to a command associated with operation of the vehicle, and generating a decision associated with the operation of the vehicle based at least in part on the command.
Vehicle power management system
An apparatus comprising an interface, a memory and a processor. The interface may be configured to receive sensor data samples during operation of a vehicle. The memory may be configured to store the sensor data samples over a number of points in time. The processor may be configured to analyze the sensor data samples stored in the memory to detect a pattern. The processor may be configured to manage an application of brakes of the vehicle in response to the pattern.
Driving force control apparatus
A driving force control apparatus including an ECU configured to detect a specific state of a vehicle, wherein the vehicle is not traveling even though an accelerator pedal of the vehicle is operated. The ECU of the driving force control apparatus being configured to acquire, when the specific state is detected, a travel distance of the vehicle from a time point when the specific state last ended. The ECU of the driving force control apparatus being configured to start driving-force-limitation mitigation control without requiring the specific state currently detected to continue for a predetermined period or longer, when the travel distance is a distance corresponding to a wheelbase.
Apparatus and method for determining levels of driving automation
An apparatus for determining levels of driving automation includes a controller configured to calculate a driving area of an ego vehicle using predetermined driving route information of the ego vehicle, and a transceiver configured to receive autonomous driving level information and driving information of a plurality of other vehicles in the driving area. The controller selects an overlap vehicle among the plurality of other vehicles based on the driving information, and determines an autonomous driving level of the ego vehicle.

The processor may be configured to manage an application of brakes of the vehicle in response to the pattern.
METHOD AND APPARATUS TO IMPROVE INTERACTION MODELS AND USER EXPERIENCE FOR AUTONOMOUS DRIVING IN TRANSITION REGIONS
A method, apparatus and computer program product are provided for improving user experiences for autonomous driving. In context of a method, the method determines one or more autonomous transition region parameters for a respective autonomous transition region along a route. The method also, based on the one or more autonomous transition region parameters, determines whether an action is to be performed by a vehicle in accordance with user preference data associated with a user. The method also causes the vehicle to perform the action in accordance with a determination that the action is to be performed by the vehicle.
OPERATION METHOD OF AUTONOMOUS VEHICLE USING AUTHENTICATION CODE
The present invention relates to an operation method of an autonomous vehicle in which the autonomous vehicle validates a user's authority to control the autonomous vehicle through an authentication code and operates based on control information matched to the authentication code. In accordance with an aspect of the present invention, an operation method of an autonomous vehicle using an authentication code includes: generating a first authentication code; matching control information to the first authentication code; transmitting the first authentication code to a user terminal; identifying a second authentication code through a camera; performing validation by ascertaining whether the second authentication code is identical to the first authentication code; identifying control information matched to the second authentication code based on a validation result; and operating based on the identified control information.
METHODS AND APPARATUS TO MODIFY VEHICLE FUNCTION BASED ON LOADING CONDITIONS
An example apparatus includes a profile manager to determine whether a user of a vehicle has a corresponding profile stored in memory based on a personalized vehicle key associated with the user, in response to determining that the profile for the user is not available, receive one or more inputs from the user via a display, the one or more inputs including a loading condition threshold and a corresponding response to exceeding the loading condition threshold, and generate the profile for the user based on the one more inputs from the user; and a vehicle feature modifier to modify a feature of the vehicle when a load condition of the vehicle satisfies the loading condition threshold to limit or disable operation of the vehicle based on the corresponding response to exceeding the loading condition threshold, the feature modified based upon the profile.
