Intervention for heart failure management
11642078 · 2023-05-09 · ·

A method for heart failure management may include volume overload intervention in response to sensor-based parameters indicating volume overload. The method may include administering non-volume overload intervention in response to the sensor-based parameters not indicating volume overload. Volume overload may be determined based on monitoring sensor-based parameters. Sensor-based parameters may be monitored in response to receiving an alert indicative of a worsening heart failure score or status for a patient.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MONITORING THE PERFUSION OF A TISSUE

The system for monitoring the perfusion of a tissue includes a perfusion sensor and a pressure sensor disposed near or at the perfusion sensor. The sensors are paired with a treatment unit. The treatment unit includes at least one correcting module to determine and/or correct the artifacts of the perfusion sensor linked to a pressure measured by the pressure sensor. The invention further relates to a corresponding monitoring method.

Method and apparatus for indicating continence state of a patient on a bed

A patient support apparatus includes a frame and a mattress supported by the frame and arranged to support a patient thereon. A sensor is included to detect moisture on the patient and/or the patient support apparatus. The sensor produces signals indicative of the presence of moisture on the patient support apparatus. One or more alerts are output in response to the signals provided by the sensor to notify a caregiver of the presence of moisture on the patient support apparatus.

APPARATUS, SYSTEM, AND METHODS FOR URINALYSIS
20170367636 · 2017-12-28 ·

Described is an apparatus for inline urine analysis comprising a control unit and at least one image capture unit comprising an image sensor and an optical assembly. The apparatus is configured to be coupled with an indwelling urinary catheter or conduit leading from the catheter. Embodiments of the apparatus comprise a dispenser configured to dispense inert or reactive matter into the urine stream to aid in the analysis of properties of the urine and an illumination device configured to illuminate the urine stream. Also described is a system comprising at least one of these apparatuses and at least one image analyzer unit operatively connected to it. The image analyzer unit comprises a processor and software adapted to analyze the captured images to derive information therefrom relating to identification of properties of the urine and/or objects of interest in the urine stream. Embodiments of the system may comprise other peripheral devices.

MEDICAL DEVICE RADIO FREQUENCY TRANSCEIVER AND METHODS OF USE THEREOF
20230201660 · 2023-06-29 ·

Described herein are radio frequency (RF) transceivers that act as a relay device to provide communication between a sensor of a medical device (e.g., a medical device implanted within the body) and a peripheral device, such as a smartphone. The medical device may be an intraurethral, intrarectal, or intravaginal device. The sensor of the medical device may be a microelectromechanical (MEM) sensor, such as an accelerometer.

Method for monitoring pressure exerted along the length of a biological channel
09848790 · 2017-12-26 · ·

The present invention provides a method for monitoring the actual pressure exerted by the interior wall of a biological channel at different locations along the length of said biological channel. The method comprises: i) introducing into the lumen of the biological channel a device comprising an elongated tube and at least two expandable means located at a predetermined distance on said elongated tube; ii) inflating each of the expandable means to its contact pressure (Pc); and iii) measuring the internal pressure in each expandable means, wherein when said internal pressure is greater than Pc, the actual pressure exerted by the interior wall of the biological channel is equal to the difference between said internal pressure and Pc.

Method and device to monitor patients with kidney disease

A medical monitoring device for monitoring electrical signals from the body of a subject is described. The medical monitoring device monitors electrical signals originating from a cardiac cycle of the subject and associates each cardiac cycle with a time index. The medical monitoring device applies a forward computational procedure to generate a risk score indicative of hyperkalemia, hypokalemia or arrhythmia of the subject. The medical monitoring device can adjust the forward computational procedure based upon clinical data obtained from the subject.

Passive and wireless pressure sensor

Aspects of the present disclosure are directed to pressure sensing. As may be implemented in accordance with one or more embodiments, an external energy field is applied to a resonant circuit having inductive conductors separated by a compressible dielectric, for wirelessly detecting pressure. Specifically, the resonant circuit is responsive to the energy field and applied pressures by operating in respective states exhibiting different resonant frequencies that are based upon pressure-related compression of the compressible dielectric. These resonant frequencies, or a change in the resonant frequencies, can be used as an indication of the pressure.

METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR DETECTING URINATION USING WEARABLE DEVICE
20230190161 · 2023-06-22 ·

A method for detecting urination includes (a) obtaining sensor data S, which is continuous data according to the passage of time and generated by the movement of a measuring device; and (b) filtering the sensor data S as valid data related to urination among the sensor data S obtained in (a) by using a valid data filtering module of the measuring device according to a preset method. The filtering includes filtering the sensor data S obtained when a distance between a sensor installed in a space provided with a urinal or a toilet seat and the measuring device is within a preset distance, as the valid data.
