Motor vehicle
A motor vehicle having a vehicle body an electrical traction machine, and at least one electrical energy accumulator designed as a traction battery for temporarily storing electrical energy for operating the traction machine. The vehicle body and/or a battery housing of the traction battery is/are provided at least in some regions within intumescent fire protection coating.
EMERGENCY STEERING SYSTEM FOR VEHICLE
An emergency steering system for a vehicle, may include a planetary gear mounted in an inlet space of a gear box for a steering apparatus so that the planetary gear is ordinarily operated at a gear ratio of 1:1 and has an increased gear ratio in the event of failure of a main steering device; and a gear ratio increasing device mounted to an upper plate portion of the gear box to increase the gear ratio of the planetary gear.
Fuel level sensor diagnosis device
A fuel level sensor detects the level of fuel in a fuel tank. A level signal detected by a float does not change in a full dead zone and an empty dead zone. During normal fuel consumption, the level signal changes according to the consumption amount. Thus when an electronic control unit, or ECU, detects that the fuel level sensor is operating normally, the ECU resets a fuel consumption amount. However, when a small quantity of fuel is supplied, the fuel consumption amount is not reset, and a measurement error may occur during failure detection. Accordingly, the ECU corrects a failure threshold value to avoid misdiagnosing a failure.
LIMP HOME MODE DRIVE METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR HYBRID VEHICLE
A limp home mode drive method and system for a hybrid vehicle are provided. The method includes prohibiting an operation of an overdrive brake that is included in a transmission for the hybrid vehicle and is driven by an electric oil pump when the hybrid vehicle is being driven and the electric oil pump is not operated. A speed of the hybrid vehicle is then limited based on a heat value of a rotation driver included in the transmission and a torque of a drive motor driving the transmission is limited based on a temperature of the drive motor. A mechanical oil pump included in the hybrid vehicle is operated to enable limp home driving of the hybrid vehicle.
VEHICLE
A vehicle includes: at least one rotary electric machine; an inverter that drives the rotary electric machine; a capacitor connected between a paired electric power lines that is connected to the inverter; and a control unit. When a vehicle collision is detected, the control unit executes first control for discharging electric charges stored in the capacitor by performing a switching operation of the inverter so as to prevent a flow of a q-axis current but cause a flow of a d-axis current to the rotary electric machine. The control unit stops the first control in a specified case and executes second control for performing the switching operation of the inverter so as to reduce the current flowing through the rotary electric machine to be lower than that during execution of the first control. The control unit executes third control for shutting down the inverter after execution of the second control.
Tool for mounting a motor-vehicle wheel on a wheel hub
A tool for mounting a motor-vehicle wheel on a wheel hub includes a tubular body having a coupling portion arranged for coupling to the wheel hub, and a carrier portion for supporting the motor-vehicle wheel during a centering phase of the wheel on the hub. The tool has an inner tubular member and an outer tubular member rigidly connected to each other so as to be coaxial. At the coupling portion, the inner and outer tubular members are spaced apart so as to define a space arranged to receive an end portion of the wheel hub, in such a way that, in an operating condition, the end portion of the hub is interposed between the inner tubular member and the outer tubular member.
Compressed natural gas vehicle safety system and method
A multiply-redundant system that prevents a driver from starting and/or moving a vehicle if a compressed natural gas fill system is not correctly and completely disconnected from the vehicle. One or more sensors in combination with one or more optional microswitches combine to lock-out the vehicle's ignition or otherwise prevent it from starting and/or moving. For different levels of safety, different combinations of sensors can be used with the lowest level having a single proximity sensor sensing the presence or absence of a high-pressure fill hose. The highest level of safety being achieved by having separate proximity sensors on the fuel fill hose fitting, the gas cap cover and a manual safety valve along with a redundant microswitch. An optional override that may be restricted as to the number of times it can be used can allow starting with a faulty sensor in order to allow maintenance.
Apparatus and method for controlling a temperature of a vehicle component by means of air guide means
An apparatus, for controlling a temperature of a vehicle component, such as of an internal combustion engine, by way of a cooling apparatus of the vehicle, includes a displaceable air guide, an actuator, a temperature sensor and a control unit. The control device is adapted so that a partially open air guide protection position is set at least temporarily below an external temperature threshold value for providing a frost warning. A related method is also disclosed.
AIR FLAP ARRANGEMENT CONFIGURED FOR ONBOARD DIAGNOSIS FOR A MOTOR VEHICLE
An air flap arrangement including an air flap carrier with an air outlet opening, where at the air flap carrier there are mounted movably a plurality of air flaps which project into the air outlet opening, where each air flap is adjustable between a blocked operating position and an opened operating position, where each two air flaps directly adjacent in the sequential direction are linked by one linking component for joint movement, where the air flap arrangement having a movement drive which is linked with a driving air flap for the transmission of driving force, where a first operating position out of the blocked operating position and the opened operating position is defined by a first end-stop arrangement which during specified normal operation impedes movement beyond the first operating position of a first control air flap arranged at a distance from the driving air flap for changing the flow-through cross-sectional area of the air outlet opening; only the first control air flap directly and a first group of air flaps, including the driving air flap and the intermediate air flaps which connect the driving air flap and the first control air flap with one another through linking components indirectly, are impeded by the first end-stop arrangement in their movement beyond the first operating position.
