Measuring wound healing
According to an example aspect of the present invention, there is provided method for measuring wound healing, comprising, measuring a wound impedance by a first tetrapolar arrangement of electrodes arranged on both sides of a wound, measuring a reference impedance by a second tetrapolar arrangement of electrodes arranged on one side of the wound, determining, by a controller, wound healing on the basis of the wound impedance and the reference impedance measured over a frequency range.
Patient Support Apparatus with X-Ray Cassette Positioning
A patient support apparatus includes a frame supporting a surface for a patient to lie on and an X-ray cassette mover coupled to the frame under the surface of the patient and adapted to receive an X-ray cassette. The patient support apparatus also includes one or more sensors located along the frame to sense a position of the patient on the surface and a controller in communication with the sensors and the X-ray cassette to determine the position of the patient on the surface and to position the X-ray cassette mover relative to the patient. The X-ray cassette mover provides a direct reference to the position of the X-ray cassette under the surface of the patient.
Endoscopic instrument for tissue identification
A method for identifying and treating tissue includes providing an electrosurgical treatment device including an electrode assembly. One or more electrical property values of target tissue are measured. The measured electrical property values of the target tissue are compared against electrical property values of known tissue types. A tissue type of the target tissue is identified. An energy delivery configuration of the electrosurgical treatment device is adjusted to the type of target tissue. The electrosurgical treatment device is activated to treat the target tissue.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PROVIDING GUIDANCE FOR PLACEMENT OF A WEARABLE DEVICE
There is provided a method and apparatus comprising a processor to provide guidance for placement of a wearable device. At least one image of the body of a subject is acquired from one or more cameras (502). The at least one acquired image is analysed to recognise body parts of the subject and to identify a body part of the subject at which to place the wearable device (504). Guidance to place the wearable device at the identified body part of the subject is provided (506).
ELECTRONIC DEVICE, GENERATION METHOD, AND GENERATION SYSTEM
An electronic device includes a measurement unit configured to measure a contour of a body by the electronic device being moved along a surface of the body and a controller configured to generate a three-dimensional image of the body based on the contour. The controller is configured to generate the three-dimensional image by lining up a plurality of first contours measured along a first direction.
Biological information acquisition terminal, information management method, and information display method
A bio-information acquiring terminal for acquiring bio-information includes a bath device. The bath device is provided with a bio-information measuring unit configured to measure bio-information of a user taking a bath, and a fingerprint authentication unit configured to specify the user. According to the above configuration, it is possible to easily manage daily changes of the health condition of the user in his or her daily life.
Medicant-releasing intravascular components and methods
Methods, systems, and devices are disclosed for administering one or more medications useful for facilitating diagnostic and/or surgical procedures within a patient. A guidewire is positioned intravascularly in a patient at a location of interest, the guidewire being free of any coating that includes adenosine. An intravascular component having a surface with a coating that includes a vasodilation agent is deployed over the guidewire. The vasodilation agent is released from the surface of the intravascular component, such as by eluting the vasodilation agent from the coating of the surface while the intravascular component is within the anatomical structure of the patient. The intravascular component is removed over the guidewire, and the guidewire is left at the location of interest after the intravascular component is removed, which can facilitate subsequent deployment of a different intravascular component over the guidewire.
Location, activity, and health compliance monitoring using multidimensional context analysis
A system and method for monitoring patient activity, location, present health status, and health protocol compliance. The present invention provides a more complete and accurate picture of a patient's health and safety context through a multi-dimensional user health and safety context analysis. Based on the combined computed health compliance score, calculated activity index, the computed location score, and calculated user health index, an overall user health and safety score is calculated. If the computed overall user health and safety score violates a predefined threshold or threshold range, an alert is transmitted to one or more persons.
BED SYSTEM
A bed system including an acquisition unit and a display, in which the acquisition unit acquires user interface device information from a plurality of user interface devices and the display displays a plurality of images corresponding respectively to the plurality of user interface devices on a single screen based on the user interface device information. One set of the plurality of user interface device information includes state information including at least one of bed state information relating to the state of one bed among a plurality of beds and user state information relating to the state of a user of the one bed among the plurality of beds. One image among the plurality of images includes a state display corresponding to the state information. When the state information is abnormal, the first display displays a warning display on the one image among the plurality of images.
MEDIATED DRUG RELEASE FOR REDUCING IN VIVO ANALYTE INDICATOR DEGRADATION
A sensor (e.g., an optical sensor) that may be implanted within a living animal (e.g., a human) and may be used to measure an analyte (e.g., glucose or oxygen) in a medium (e.g., interstitial fluid, blood, or intraperitoneal fluid) within the animal. The sensor may include a sensor housing, an analyte indicator covering at least a portion of the sensor housing, and one or more boronic acid-drug conjugates configured to release one or more drugs in the presence of a degradative species, wherein the one or more boronic acid-drug conjugates reduce deterioration of the analyte indicator.
