Hybrid system to overhaul a DC locomotive

A locomotive, a first chopper circuit, and a second chopper circuit integrating a traction motor with an energy storage device are disclosed. The locomotive includes a prime mover, an energy management device, a DC power bus, a traction motor, an energy storage device, a resistor grid, and a chopper circuit. Each chopper circuit is controlled by the energy management device and includes a plurality of power semiconductors with variable switching frequency. The traction motor may be capable of operating in a motoring mode, where power is controllably supplied by either the prime mover and/or the energy storage device; and a dynamic braking mode, where generated power is controllably allocated to the energy storage device and/or the resistor grid.

A power decentralized electric locomotive apparatus includes an electric locomotive and a plurality of muck trucks. The electric locomotive and the plurality of muck trucks are connected in sequence, and a mater drive motor is fixedly mounted on the electric locomotive. A slave drive motor is fixedly mounted on at least one of the muck trucks; a torque of the slave drive motor is smaller than a torque of the mater drive motor; and the slave drive motor cooperates with the mater drive motor, to enable the muck truck to travel on rails and reduce drive power and self-weight of the electric locomotive.

A method of automatic battery swapping control for a rail transit vehicle is applicable to a rail transit vehicle automatic battery swapping system including a ground battery swapping device and a rail transit vehicle. The method includes: receiving a battery swapping signal, and in response to the battery swapping signal, blocking traction of the rail transit vehicle; communicating the in-vehicle wireless communication device with the ground wireless communication device, to enable battery swapping for the rail transit vehicle; receiving a battery swapping completion notification sent by the battery management system; and disconnecting the in-vehicle wireless communication device from the ground wireless communication device, and lifting the vehicle blockade of the rail transit vehicle.

A track maintenance machine includes a machine frame being movable on a track, a plurality of working units, and a combustion engine to be connected by a clutch to a transfer case. Hydraulic pumps for supplying a plurality of hydraulic drives of a hydraulic system are connected to the transfer case. An electric motor is provided as an alternative drive of the transfer case for permanent energy supply of the working units and drives. The electric motor is coupled to an intermediate circuit to be supplied with electric energy by a vertically adjustable pantograph to be applied to a catenary of the track. A generator or an electric energy storage device is provided for alternative energy supply of the intermediate circuit. A method for operation of an energy supply system is also provided.

A voltage source converter includes two half bridges each having two current valves connected in series to be connected to opposite poles of a DC source/load. A gate drive unit controls a semiconductor device of a current valve. An arrangement carries out voltage measurements for providing a value of DC voltage between the opposite poles. A voltage divider connected across the two current valves measures DC voltage between opposite poles and each voltage divider has an output connected to processing parts delivering a digital signal representing a value of the DC voltage between the poles. Two gate drive units send a digital signal to a calculating unit to carry out a quality estimation of the digital signals and to calculate a DC voltage value from the signals while giving each signal a weight corresponding to the quality value adhered thereto and then forming a weighted average value.

The main body has a coupling mechanism for mechanically coupling to at least one car body of the vehicle. At least one first driving motor for driving the first wheel set, at least one power supply unit for supplying the driving motor with electrical power and at least one inverter unit are provided. The power supply unit is disposed at least partially in a region of the undercarriage unit in order to permit the undercarriage unit of the assembly to be expanded with regard to the functionalities of the undercarriage unit.

A track maintenance machine includes a combustion engine mechanically connected by a drive shaft to an electric generator/motor unit. The electric generator/motor unit is connected by a mechanical drive unit to a hydraulic pump. A power accumulator is connected by an electrical supply line to the generator/motor unit and to drives which can be actuated electrically. It is thus possible to mainly electrically supply all of the drives.
