Device and Method for Catching a Biological Specimen
A device and method for catching a biological specimen removed from an individual. The device includes at least an inlet channel; an outlet channel; a main chamber having an interior wall and an exterior wall, wherein the main chamber is in fluid communication with the inlet channel and is in fluid communication with the outlet channel; and a receiving structure attached to at least a portion of the interior wall or the exterior wall of the main chamber and positioned such that it does not obstruct either the inlet channel or the outlet channel, wherein the receiving structure is further configured to receive a light emitting body for illuminating the main chamber of the device before catching the biological specimen removed from an individual. The device is connected to a medical scope and a vacuum system. When the device is placed under suction, the biological specimen is extracted and trapped on the removable filter of the device. The removable filter is disengaged from the main chamber of the device and deposited along with the biological specimen into a specimen container.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR TISSUE SPECIMEN COLLECTION
A system and method for retaining a tissue specimen obtained via a collection tube is provided. Embodiments provide a system including a collection device removably and serially disposed between a collection tube and a suction tube so as to allow fluid communication therebetween via the collection device. The collection device includes a screen for retaining a tissue specimen drawn into the collection device by and towards the suction tube while allowing any fluid accompanying the tissue to be drawn through the collection device and into the suction tube. The system also includes one or more end caps for sealing the collection device such that the collection device may store and/or transport the retained tissue specimen in a preservation fluid. A system for identifying and organizing collection devices retaining tissue specimens from various anatomical regions is also provided.
Test Barrel
Disclosed is a test barrel, to prevent a test liquid in the barrel from sputtering into a connection gap due to shaking of the barrel to hence cause contamination, improve the measurement accuracy in case of multiple tests, and meanwhile improve the operability of screwing on and screwing off the entire device during use of the device. The above technical objective of this utility model is implemented by employing the following technical solution: a test barrel, comprising barrel lid and a barrel body; wherein the threaded rings are arranged on an inner wall of a side face of the barrel lid and an outer wall of an opening of the barrel body, a rotary force applying portion is arranged on an outer wall of the side face of the barrel lid, and during engagement, a liquid blocking washer is arranged between the barrel lid and the barrel body, wherein a radial width of the liquid blocking washer is greater than a thickness of the opening of the barrel body.
DEVICE AND SYSTEM FOR PRESERVING ANALYTES IN BLOOD SAMPLES DURING STORAGE AND TRANSPORTATION
Freshly obtained blood samples are deposited into a device that contains blood sample carriers, each of the carriers is designed to hold a fixed amount of blood and allow excess blood sample to flow through and be discarded. A desiccant within the blood sample carrier aids with the drying of the blood and the discarding of the excess sample blood. The device is stored/transported within a modified atmosphere package comprised of an impermeable sealable bag and an oxygen scavenger compound for removing oxygen from the bag.
KIT, METHOD, AND DEVICE FOR SAMPLING ORAL MICROBIOME
Disclosed herein are kits and related methods for testing the oral microbiome of an animal for presence of one or more bacteria, e.g, associated with an oral disease or disorder, such periodontal disease, good oral health, or both, in a sample collected from the animal. The kit includes a sample collection device having a handle and a head opposite the handle. The kit further includes a dry container for storing the sample collection device. The container has an open position for receiving at least a portion of the head and a closed position.
A LABORATORY SAMPLE CARRIER
A laboratory sample cassette (1) comprises a main body (2) having a writing surface (3), and at least two protrusions (14) extending from the writing surface (3). Each said protrusion (14) has substantially the same height from the writing surface (3).
COLLECTION CONTAINER
The invention relates to a flexible specimen collection container for use with a toilet frame comprising: a sealable opening for receiving stool directly from a donor; a first compartment for receiving and holding stool, said first compartment coupled to said opening; a second compartment for collecting and holding fluid received from the donor through the sealable opening, the second compartment being in fluid communication with said first compartment and configured to substantially separate the fluid from the stool. At least one port may be connected to said first compartment and being configured to pass at least a portion of the stool.
BIOPSY CARRIER
The present invention relates to a device adapted to facilitate transport of a biopsy sample from a sterile extraction site to laboratory-type equipment by which the biopsy sample is processed, while maintaining the biopsy sample wetted and sterile and automatically transferring the biopsy sample from the device to the laboratory-type equipment.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR COLLECTION OF FLUID SAMPLES
The present invention relates in general to the improved containment of biological fluids. In particular, a method and apparatus for collection and preservation of fluid samples in accordance with the present invention results in collection of semen having improved viability both at the time of collection and after storage. The disclosed methods and apparatuses methods support a wide variety of applications for containment of biological fluids related to human and veterinary medicine including, but not limited to, human reproductive medicine and animal husbandry.
Integrated workflow for processing tissue samples from breast biopsy procedures
A method of obtaining and analyzing at least one tissue sample includes forming, in a tissue container, first tracking data associated with the at least one tissue sample. Second tracking data is formed, in a transport container. The second tracking data is associated with the at least one tissue sample. The at least one tissue sample is placed in the tissue container. The first and second tracking data from the tissue container and the transport container are scanned with an electronic scanning system to ensure that the first and second tracking data are both associated with the removed tissue sample.
