20180008266 · 2018-01-11 ·

In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, a surgical brace device for deployment across a line of stapled tissue of an organ comprises: a first splint member and a second splint member having a first end and a second end, and configured to be disposed on either side of the surgically stapled tissue; at least one strut member having a first end and a second end, wherein said first end of the strut member is fixedly joined with said first end of said first splint member and said second end of the strut member is fixedly joined with said first end of said second splint member and wherein said first splint member and said second splint member is dimensioned to span at least a portion of the width of said line of stapled tissue and a predetermined portion of said undisturbed tissue of said organ adjacent thereto; and a tie member configured to traverse the tissue of said organ disposed at a predetermined distance from said at least one strut member to interconnect and keep said first splint member and said second splint member from spreading and anchor said surgical brace device to said organ.

Knitted tissue scaffolds

Staple cartridge assemblies for use with surgical stapling instruments and methods for manufacturing the same are provided. Scaffolds for use with a surgical staple cartridge and methods for manufacturing the same are also provided.

Disclosed is a fixing bone plate, which comprises a plate body. The plate body is provided with a plate main part and a locking portion passing through the plate body. The plate main part is connected to the locking portion at the corresponding two ends of the plate body. The fixing bone plate also comprises an attachment portion. The attachment portion is provided with a bone attachment surface. The attachment portion is disposed on the other side of the locking portion. The plate body can be manufactured by using a metal laser additive manufacturing technique or a 3D metal printing technique. The fixing bone plate can be accurately positioned and stably combined with a human bone according to morphological characteristics of bones.

SURGICAL CONSTRUCTS AND METHODS OF TISSUE REPAIR

Systems and methods for soft tissue to bone repairs employing tensionable knotless anchors, without knot tying. The tensionable knotless anchors may be used by themselves or in combination with additional constructs (which may have a similar or different configuration, i.e., modified according to the specific repair) to achieve novel remplissage and soft tissue repairs.

BIOPSY SITE MARKERS WITH NON-MIGRATION FEATURES

A biopsy site marker includes a carrier, and a marker element. The marker element includes a primary coil, a first anchor and a second anchor. The primary coil is disposed within the carrier. At least a portion of the first anchor and the second anchor extend outwardly from opposite sides of the carrier. The first anchor and second anchor are configured to move relative to the primary coil to engage tissue at a biopsy site.

FLEXIBLE BONE IMPLANT

Examples of devices and methods for stabilizing a fracture in a bone include a body having an elongate distal portion having an outer surface defining a screw thread and an elongate proximal portion having a non-threaded outer surface.

ABDOMINAL CLOSURE METHOD AND DEVICE VARIATIONS FOR CLOSING VENTRAL HERNIAS AND REDUCING RECURRENCE
20230022119 · 2023-01-26 ·

Abdominal closure method and device variations for closing ventral hernias and reducing recurrence are described. The tissue anchoring assembly may generally include a first prong defining a lumen at least partially therethrough. The first prong may further define one or more openings or channels at least partially along the first prong and an opening near or at a base of the first prong such that the one or more openings or channels and the opening are in communication via the lumen. A first member may extend from the base of the first prong for contact against a first tissue surface and a second member may be configured to move relative to the first prong for contact against a second tissue surface such that the first member and the second member are secured relative to one another.

Bone repair system and method

A bone repair system and method for percutaneously fixing a first bone segment to a second bone segment, such as rib bone segments, in a body of a patient include drilling a first hole through the first bone segment and a second hole through the second bone segment, and feeding a first tether through the first hole and a second tether through the second hole, each tether having a proximal end and a distal end. The first and second tether distal ends are withdrawn from the body while the first and second tether proximal ends have not passed through the first and second bone segments, respectively. A reinforcing member, such as a bone plate, having first and second openings, is passed onto the first and second tether distal ends, and the reinforcing member is pulled into engagement with the first and second bone segments guided by the tethers. The reinforcing member is secured to the first bone segment with a first fastener assembly through the first hole and the first opening and to the second bone segment with a second fastener assembly through the second hole and the second opening to fix the first bone segment to the second bone segment.

Implantable fasteners, applicators, and methods for brachytherapy

A fastener applicator includes a body portion including a handle assembly, a cartridge assembly supported within the body portion, the cartridge assembly including implantable fasteners, a drive assembly supported within the body portion and operatively coupled to the cartridge assembly to engage the implantable fasteners, and an actuation assembly supported within the handle assembly and operatively coupled to the drive assembly to fire a distal-most implantable fastener upon actuation of the actuation assembly. At least one of the implantable fasteners includes a body including a tissue facing surface, a tissue penetrating portion extending from the body, and a capsule affixed to the tissue facing surface of the body, the capsule including radioactive material.
