Ligation clip with controlled tissue compression
11696764 · 2023-07-11 · ·

A ligation clip includes a frame defining a cavity, a flexible band that is pivotably supported on one end of the frame, and a spring beam supported on the other end of the frame in cantilevered fashion. The flexible band is movable in relation to the frame from an open position to a clamped position to clamp tissue between the flexible band and the spring beam.

EMBOLISATION SYSTEMS

A bristle device for delivery into a body lumen comprises a longitudinally extending stem 1 and a plurality of bristles extending generally outwardly from the stem for anchoring the device in a body lumen. There may be at least two bristle segments and in some cases there are flexible sections between the segments. The flexible sections articulate to enable the device to pass through a catheter placed in a tortuous anatomy or to be deployed in a curved vessel, or across a bifurcation. In some cases at least some of the bristle segments are spaced-apart to accommodate bending of the bristles.

ELASTIN FORMATION USING FIBROUS IMPLANTS

A cardiovascular fibrous implant for rebuilding elastin and the use of such an implant, wherein the implant is comprised of fibers forming a network, and wherein the fibers comprised in said network have a fiber diameter of 150 μm or less.

Collecting and harvesting cut bone from rongeur

A collector used to collect bone includes: a container body defining an interior containment space for receiving and retaining collected bone, and having at least one open end for access and removal of collected bone from the interior containment space; and a cap in covering relation to the open end of the container body such that access to the interior containment space for removal of collected bone is inhibited. The collector includes an intake port defining an opening for receiving therein a distal end of a kerrison rongeur for collecting cut bone from a cutting area thereof, and the cap includes at least one scraper for engaging and dislodging cut bone from the cutting area of a distal end of a kerrison rongeur when received within the intake port. The collector preferably is used with a kerrison rongeur for collecting cut bone therefrom.

System and methods to hemostatically close arterial and venous access locations

The present invention relates generally to the field of closing of openings in vessel walls, i.e. closure of vascular holes, in particular access to and closure of an access point through the wall of a human vessel, and more specifically to the hemostatic closure and structural support of an opening such as an access point through a fluid filled vessel, particularly a human vessel, be that an artery, vein or other body conduit.

Suture delivery system

A device is described. The device includes a suture guide and a tissue retracting surface to enable accurate and safe delivery of sutures through tissue.

TISSUE THICKNESS COMPENSATOR COMPRISING AT LEAST ONE MEDICAMENT

In various embodiments, a tissue thickness compensator can comprise one or more capsules and/or pockets comprising at least one medicament therein. In at least one embodiment, staples can be fired through the tissue thickness compensator to rupture the capsules. In certain embodiments, a firing member, or knife, can be advanced through the tissue thickness compensator to rupture the capsules.

Method for implanting an implantable device in body tissue

An implantable device for body tissue, including an electrical subsystem that flexes within and interfaces with body tissue and a carrier that operates in the following two modes: provides structural support for the electrical subsystem during implantation of the device in body tissue and allows flexing of the electrical subsystem after implantation of the device in body tissue. The implantable device is preferably designed to be implanted into the brain, spinal cord, peripheral nerve, muscle, or any other suitable anatomical location. The implantable device, however, may be alternatively used in any suitable environment and for any suitable reason.

SURGICAL STAPLING DEVICE INCLUDING A BUTTRESS RETENTION ASSEMBLY
20230011980 · 2023-01-12 ·

A surgical kit includes a surgical stapling device and a loading assembly. The surgical stapling device includes a tool assembly and a buttress material. The tool assembly includes first and second jaw members. The first jaw member supports a staple cartridge that includes a retention assembly. The retention assembly includes a cam block including a pair of protrusions and a spring biasing the cam block towards the second jaw member. The buttress material includes proximal and distal portions. The proximal portion defines bores laterally spaced apart and configured to receive the pair of protrusions of the cam block. The distal portion defines a cavity to be placed over a distal end portion of the staple cartridge. The loading assembly includes a housing defining a chamber configured to receive a portion of the buttress material. The housing includes a proximal portion defining a slot configured to receive the buttress material therethrough and the pair of protrusions of the cam block.

Self-retaining variable loop sutures

A suture having a first end for penetrating tissue, an elongated suture body having a periphery; a plurality of retainers on the periphery, and a second end having a variable loop of variable circumference, wherein the variable loop includes a fixed loop slidably engaging the elongated body for slidingly varying the circumference of the variable loop, and wherein the first end may pass through the variable loop to secure tissue as an anchor, the anchor preventing movement of the suture in the direction of deployment of the first end.
