TRUCK SEMITRAILER UNDERBODY AND UNDERCARRIAGE AERODYNAMIC FAIRINGS FOR FUEL ECONOMY
A semitrailer underbody screen and wheel-set fairing kit comprises several panels and fairings for retrofitting on conventional semitrailers. A sectioned panel like fish scales covers the dozens of transverse I-beam cross-members positioned underneath conventional enclosed trailer floors, and carries on down the length of the underbody. A v-hull air deflector is set just beneath these panel covers, ahead of the semitrailer's undercarriage, suspension and tandem rear axle wheels. Such v-hull air deflector splits and aerodynamically “flows” the air being pushed ahead outwards to the sides and around the wheels. The tandem rear axle wheels themselves are completely boxed inside full fenders that cowl over the front, sides, top, and rear. Removable access panels are provided on the outsides of the full fender units for wheel and tire maintenance. The result is significantly less wind drag and noise at highway cruising speeds. Less drag means better fuel economy for the tractor operator.
SIDE SPOILER DEVICE FOR MOBILITY
In the present disclosure, the side spoiler is provided on a lower side of a mobility vehicle so that aerodynamic performance is improved, and a deployment angle of the side spoiler is controlled according to driving conditions and road conditions so that desired aerodynamic performance is realized, and damage to the side spoiler is prevented. In addition, introduced is a side spoiler device for the mobility vehicle, in which the side spoiler is divided into a plurality of side spoilers so that aerodynamic performance for each driving situation is optimized through individual control of each side spoiler.
Moving body side section structure
In a moving body side section structure that includes a flow correction fin 1A that is provided on a side section of a moving body, the flow correction fin includes a first inclined portion 1Ae which is formed at a front end in the longitudinal direction of the moving body and in which a width in a width direction of the moving body is widened toward a rear side in the longitudinal direction of the moving body, and a second inclined portion 1Af which is formed further rearward than the first inclined portion 1Ae in the longitudinal direction of the moving body and in which the width in the width direction of the moving body is narrowed toward the rear side in the longitudinal direction of the moving body.
Aerodynamic Deployable Dive Planes
An aerodynamics control system for a vehicle may include a dive plane assembly operably coupled to a front portion of a vehicle body, an actuator assembly operable to transition the dive plane assembly between a deployed state and a retracted state, and a controller operably coupled to the actuator to provide automatic control of the dive plane assembly via the actuator based on a selectable control mode. The selectable control mode defines a position of the dive plane assembly based on vehicle parameters measured while driving the vehicle.
Motor vehicle having an air duct that extends away from a wheel housing
A motor vehicle includes an air duct between a front wheel housing and a side wall of the motor vehicle, the air duct extends between an inwardly directed embossment of the side wall and a wheel housing cover which partially covers the embossment externally at a distance therefrom.
AERODYNAMIC DEVICE
An aerodynamic device provided as a plate-shaped body attached to a roof or a side wall of a vehicle includes means configured to selectively raise ribs arranged in two directions from a surface portion of the plate-shaped body in a switching manner between the two directions.
Rotatable aerodynamic fairing system
One embodiment comprises a fairing assembly adapted to couple to a vehicle, the assembly comprising: a support arm mountable to a frame rail of a vehicle and a fairing adapter adapted to mount a fairing to the support arm. The fairing adapter is rotatably coupled to the support arm and is rotatable from a first orientation corresponding to an aerodynamic position to a second orientation corresponding to a first access position. The fairing adapter may also be rotatable to a third orientation corresponding to a second access position. The assembly further comprises a releasable lock to lock the fairing adapter in the first orientation and releasable to allow the fairing adapter to rotate to the second orientation or the third orientation.
BACK-OF-CAB FUEL SYSTEM AND VEHICLE ASSEMBLIES
A fuel system for a vehicle is provided. The fuel system is configured to couple to a frame rail of the vehicle. A fuel system frame assembly of the fuel system is configured to couple with the frame rail directly or with another component that is coupled, directly or indirectly, with the frame rail. A cowling of the fuel system can include a fuel pressure vessel. The fuel pressure vessel configured to be placed within and supported by the fuel system frame assembly. The fuel system is configured to enhance component arrangement efficiency when mounted to a vehicle frame rail.
Aerodynamic system and adjustable fairings
Embodiments provide an aerodynamic fairing system that may comprise a base configured to mount to a vehicle, an arm coupled to the base at a proximate end and extending laterally, and a fairing mounted to the arm having an inboard and an outboard surface. The fairing outboard surface may provide an aerodynamic outer surface to direct flow to an angle to the rear. The arm may a fixed or adjustable length arm. The arm may provide a mounting area for a mud flap such that aerodynamic system may act as a mud flap hanger. Embodiments also provide an adjustable mud flap hanger.
Aerodynamic systems and fairings with fairing caps
A fairing assembly adapted to control flow proximate to a vehicle wheel, the fairing assembly having an aerodynamic outer surface to direct flow. The fairing assembly comprises a fairing having a fairing outboard surface. The assembly further comprises a fairing cap coupled to the fairing to cover at least a portion of the fairing outboard surface.
