Suture device

A suture device is provided comprising an elongate body having a longitudinal axis and opposite proximal and distal ends. The distal end inserts into a wound and the proximal end operates the device. A suture needle connects with the elongate body at or near the distal end and is movable relative to the elongate body in longitudinal direction along a needle trajectory having a suturing space. A spreader connects with the elongate body at or near the distal end and engages tissue to be sutured adjacent the needle trajectory and provides a pulling force on the tissue to pull a portion of the tissue into the suturing space; and/or comprises a spring. The device is configured to urge at least a portion of the suture needle from a first position to a second position along a needle trajectory past a suturing space by a spring action of the spring.

Surgical visualization feedback system

A surgical visualization feedback system is disclosed. The surgical visualization feedback system comprises an emitter assembly configured to emit electromagnetic radiation toward an anatomical structure. The emitter assembly comprises a structured light emitter configured to emit a structured light pattern on a surface of the anatomical structure and a spectral light emitter configured to emit spectral light capable of penetrating the anatomical structure. The surgical visualization feedback system further comprises a waveform sensor assembly configured to detect reflected electromagnetic radiation corresponding to the emitted electromagnetic radiation and a control circuit in signal communication with the waveform sensor assembly. The control circuit is configured to receive an input corresponding to a selected surgical procedure, determine an identity of a targeted structure within the anatomical structure based on the selected surgical procedure and the reflected electromagnetic radiation, and confirm the determined identity of the targeted structure through a user input.

The actuation sled of the staple cartridge includes a guard to shield the knife and minimize any likelihood of injury to medical personnel during installation and replacement of the staple cartridge.

Some embodiments of the method can include an implant configured to be deployed within the LAA or other cavity, configured to be expanded or moved against a wall portion of the LAA or other cavity, and configured to twist at least a portion of the LAA or other cavity when the implant is rotated. Thereafter, one or more securing elements, staples, sutures, or other fasteners can be implanted in the gathered tissue to hold the tissue in the gathered state, thereby occluding the opening of the LAA or other cavity. In some embodiments, the opening of the LAA or other cavity can be occluded by elongating or otherwise reshaping the opening using an implant device, and securing the opening in the occluded state.

The activating mechanism is housed in the carriage and includes a barrel cam extending along a rotational axis. The barrel cam has a first cam profile radially extending about the rotational axis. The barrel cam is operatively coupled to the drive gear such that rotation of the drive gear is configured to actuate the activating mechanism to move at least a portion of the end effector. The first cam profile defines a first operational section, a second operational section, and an operational transition positioned between the first and second operational sections. The first and the second operational sections extend from the operational transition in opposite directions.

TREATMENT DEVICE

A treatment device includes an indwelling device including a treatment portion, and a tubular member including a proximal-end opening and in which a proximal-end portion of the treatment portion is disposed. The treatment device further includes an actuator including a connector releasably connected to a proximal-end portion of the treatment portion, and a power transmission member connected to the connector for moving the connector. The treatment portion can be fixed with respect to the tubular member when the power transmission member is retracted such that connector pulls the proximal-end portion of the treatment portion in a proximal direction to a predetermined position. The treatment device also includes a regulation portion for regulating a displacement of the connector in a direction separating from a longitudinal axis of the tubular member in the state in which the connector pulls the proximal-end portion towards the predetermined position.
