Seating apparatus
A seating apparatus may include a seating unit and a pair of hollow supporting structure. In one embodiment, the hollow supporting structure is bowl-shaped springs which can be disposed underneath a seating unit to receive and support the buttocks of the user. In another embodiment, the seating unit can include a regular seat, a stool, a bicycle seat, and even a horse saddle. More specifically, the buttocks of the user can be received in a concave surface of each bowl-shaped spring so a complete support over a large area is provided to the user's buttocks and pubic bone to eliminate the pressure therefrom. Furthermore, the springs can also be used as cushions to absorb impact on the user's lower body portion. In another aspect, the hollow supporting structure is a pair of rings, and in a further aspect, the hollow supporting structure is a pair of bowl-shaped units.
Cycle seat
A cycle seat cycle seat comprising: a crotch area (2), arrangement in use between a user's legs; a central seat section (3), which seat section is arranged for supporting the user's backside; and a rear support portion (5); wherein said portion extends away from the seat section to control rearwards movement of the user with relation to the seat section. The cycle seat may include a displaceable and/or resiliently deformable portion.
Bicycle saddle with through-hole handle
A seat for a bicycle comprising: a seating surface having a longitudinal length, a longitudinally forward portion, a longitudinally rearward portion, and a lateral width between a first lateral end and a second lateral end laterally opposed to the first lateral end; an underside surface below the seating surface; an opening extending through the seating surface and the underside surface; where the opening has an opening length between a longitudinally forward periphery and a longitudinally rearward periphery and an opening width between a first lateral periphery and a second lateral periphery laterally opposed to the first lateral periphery; where the seating surface includes a bridge portion longitudinally located between the opening and the rearward portion of the seating surface; and where the opening has a lateral width greater than its longitudinal length.
MOLDABLE BICYCLE SADDLES, EXTERNAL SADDLE HEATERS, FITTING PROCEDURES, AND RELATED TECHNOLOGIES
A bicycle saddle can be customized to a rider's body to achieve desired support and comfort. The support shell is configured to support a rider's body and can be heated by an external heater and/or at least one internal thermal element operable to heat the bicycle saddle such that the saddle is molded to the rider.
Ergonomically Designed Bicycle Saddle
Embodiments of the invention provide a customizable bicycle saddle for a bicycle. The bicycle saddle has been designed to allow it to be adjusted to match the ischial tuberosities of each rider's pelvis in order to minimize the pressure placed on other portions of the rider's body while seated on the bicycle. The bicycle saddle comprises a first seating portion that has been configured to allow a rider to sit on the bicycle, a second seating portion that has been configured to allow the rider to sit on the bicycle. The bicycle saddle also includes a first adjustment means configured to allow the first seating portion to be moved closer to the second seating portion, and a second adjustment means configured to allow the saddle to be moved closer to a forward portion on the bicycle.
Bicycle seats
A seat for a pedal-powered vehicle includes a support frame, a left seat element, a right seat element, and a nose. The left and right seat elements and the nose are implemented as separate components supported by the support frame. The two seat elements support a seated rider's weight while the nose does not. The seat elements and the nose form a gap below the seated rider's perineum area. The seat elements pivot forwards and backwards when the seated rider is pedaling. The seat elements counter-pivot when the seated rider is pedaling. Each seat element includes a concave surface that supports the seated rider.
BICYCLE SADDLE
A bicycle saddle includes: a base structure having a top portion; and a cushion coupled to the top portion of the base structure, the cushion including a first lateral side and a second lateral side separated by a longitudinal plane, wherein each of the first lateral side and the second lateral side includes: a first region having a first stiffness; a second region having a second stiffness that is less than the first stiffness; and a third region having a third stiffness that is less than the second stiffness, wherein a perimeter of the second region is at least 75% enclosed within the first region, and wherein a perimeter of the third region is at least 75% enclosed within the second region.
Bicycle seat with vents
According to one embodiment, a bicycle seat includes a frame having a front end section, a medial section, and a rear end section. The front end section extends forward from the medial section, and the rear end section extends aft from the medial section. The bicycle seat also includes a first vent positioned in a first side portion of the rear end section, and a second vent positioned in a second side portion of the rear end section. The first vent defines a first passageway that extends through the first side portion of the rear end section. The second vent defines a second passageway that extends through the second side portion of the rear end section.
Method and apparatus for heating and cooling a motorcycle seat
A Method and Apparatus for Heating and Cooling a Motorcycle Seat have been disclosed. In one implementation a plurality of heating and cooling elements are used to affect heating and cooling a motorcycle seat.
BICYCLE SADDLE ADJUSTMENT SYSTEM AND METHOD
A bicycle saddle adjustment system has a base having one or more adjustment channels therein, and a first and second saddle for coupling to the base, the first and second saddle laterally adjustable via the one or more adjustment channels in the base. The bicycle saddle adjustment system may further have a removably attachable adapter that allows for a quick fitment between various saddles and the bicycle, the adapter allowing for temporary or permanent attachment to the base.
