A surgical stapling device includes a tool assembly having a U-shaped frame, an anvil assembly, and a cartridge assembly. The U-shaped frame has a proximal transverse portion, a longitudinal portion, and a distal transverse portion. The distal transverse portion and the proximal transverse of the U-shaped frame and the cartridge assembly have a common shape including a first linear portion defining a first axis, a second linear portion defining a second axis, and a third linear portion defining a third axis, the first axis being transverse to the longitudinal axis of the elongate body. In embodiments, a first radius of curvature is defined between the first linear portion and the second linear portion such that the first axis and the second axis define an angle β, and a second radius of curvature is defined between the second linear portion and the third linear portion such that the second axis and the third axis define an angle Ω.

MIS Bunion Correction System
A bunion correction device is disclosed which secures a plate to a metatarsal head before an osteotomy is performed to allow for control of the metatarsal head during the bunion correction procedure. The device comprises a body component having two opposing portions positioned orthogonally to one another with a plurality of screw apertures positioned on both portions of the implant. Bone screws or fasteners are driven laterally through the apertures of the first portion into the metatarsal head, securing the first portion or base to the metatarsal head. An osteotomy is performed just proximal to the plate and the metatarsal head is translated to correct the bunion. Bone screws are then placed in the second portion apertures to fix the correction and provide compression of the osteotomy.

Example implantable tissue anchors, kits that include an implantable tissue anchor, and associated methods are described. An example implantable tissue anchor is moveable between a first, expanded configuration and a second, compressed configuration. The implantable tissue anchor has a first end, a second end, and a main body. The main body defines a first arm, a second arm, a first plurality of recesses on the first arm, a first plurality of barbs on the first arm, a second plurality of recess on the second arm, and a second plurality of barbs on the second arm. The first arm and the second arm define a first closed loop and a first passageway that extends through the main body when the implantable tissue anchor is in the first, expanded configuration.

A surgical staple cartridge is disclosed comprising a plurality of staples removably stored within the surgical staple cartridge. The staples comprise staple legs which extend from a staple base portion. ASPIRATION DEVICES FOR TREATMENT OF THROMBOSIS INCLUDING EXPANDABLE DISTAL ENDS AND SYSTEMS AND METHODS THEREOF
Described herein are systems, devices, and methods for treating a thrombosis. In some embodiments, an apparatus may include a sleeve defining a first lumen, and an aspiration catheter defining a second lumen, the aspiration catheter slidably disposed within the first lumen. The aspiration catheter may include a proximal end coupleable to a vacuum source configured to apply a vacuum pressure within the second lumen to draw a thrombus into the second lumen, and an expandable tip configured to transition between a retracted configuration in which the expandable tip is constrained within the sleeve and an expanded configuration in which at least a portion of the expandable tip is disposed distal to the sleeve. The expandable tip in the expanded configuration can have a funnel-shaped profile that gradually increases in diameter from a proximal end of the expandable tip to a distal end of the expandable tip.

A staple cartridge assembly for use with a surgical stapling instrument includes a staple cartridge including a plurality of staples and a cartridge deck. The staple cartridge assembly also includes a compressible adjunct positionable against the cartridge deck, wherein the staples are deployable into tissue captured against the compressible adjunct, and wherein the compressible adjunct comprises a first biocompatible layer comprising a first portion, a second biocompatible layer comprising a second portion, and crossed spacer fibers extending between the first portion and the second portion.
SURGICAL STAPLING APPARATUS INCLUDING RELEASABLE SURGICAL BUTTRESS
A staple cartridge for use with a surgical stapling apparatus includes a cartridge body including a tissue contacting surface defining a plurality of staple retaining slots, a staple disposed within each staple retaining slot of the cartridge body, and a substantially circular buttress. The buttress includes an inner portion, an outer portion, and a middle portion extending between the inner portion and the outer portion. At least one stiffened region joins the buttress to the tissue contacting surface of the cartridge body. The inner portion, the middle portion, the outer portion, and the at least one stiffened region are all formed from a common material.
BIOPSY NEEDLE ASSEMBLY AND METHOD
A method of obtaining a tissue specimen includes moving a biopsy needle through a vasculature and through a wall of a blood vessel at a target site. At the target site, the biopsy needle forms a puncture through a wall of said blood vessel at a non-perpendicular angle so that an inner-wall opening of the puncture is further downstream from an outer-wall opening of the puncture. The biopsy needle resects a portion of tissue. The biopsy needle reenters the puncture with the portion of the tissue trapped therein. The biopsy needle is withdrawn from the vasculature for subsequent inspection of the tissue.
