Assigning an identifying element to a bale

A bale identification assembly for use with an agricultural baler (18) includes a first supply roll mounted on the baler providing a binding material (52) used by the knotter system to bind the formed bale, the binding material (52) on the first supply roll comprising identification tags (62) at spaced intervals along the binding material. The bale identification assembly includes a second supply roll mounted on the baler (18) providing a binding material without identification tags, wherein the knotter system combines the binding material with identification tags (62) from the first supply roll with the binding material without identification tags from the second supply roll to bind the formed bale. The bale identification assembly includes a read module with one or more antennas configured to transmit interrogator signals and also receive authentication replies from the identification tags (62).

Intelligent baling

An agricultural baler including a baling chamber and a pre-compression chamber, the baling chamber including at least one movable wall. The agricultural baler further includes multiple sensors and a controller adapted for controlling operation of the agricultural baler based on inputs of the multiple sensors, wherein a first subset of the multiple sensors is related to a first feature and a second subset of the multiple sensors is related to a second feature. The controller is configured to control the operation of the agricultural baler in a first time period until the first feature is within a first predetermined range, and to control the operation of the agricultural baler in a subsequent time period, until the second feature is within a second predetermined range.

LADEN WEIGHT ESTIMATION USING RFID TAGGED BALES
20220167560 · 2022-06-02 ·

A method for identifying the weight of a transportation group of bales includes receiving, compressing and shaping crop material into a plurality of bales, wrapping each bale of the plurality of bales with a binding material and attaching an identification tag to each of the bales. A bale ID is crated for each bale and a weight value for each of the bales is associated with the bale ID of the respective bale. The identification tag on the bale for each bale is assigned to the bale ID. The method reads the identification tag of each of plurality of bales and assigns the plurality of bales to a transportation group with a local bale handling device. The plurality of bales in the transportation group are loaded onto a truck, and the total weight of the transportation group is determined by totaling the weight value of each bale in the transportation group.

A tailgate assembly for an agricultural baler includes: a tailgate that is movable between an open position and a closed position; a tailgate actuator coupled to the tailgate and configured to move the tailgate between the open position and the closed position; and a controller. The controller is configured to: determine that a bale formation cycle is beginning; enter a lockout mode responsively to determining the bale formation cycle has begun, the lockout mode preventing the tailgate actuator from moving the tailgate to the open position; determine that the bale formation cycle is complete; and enter an ejection mode from the lockout mode responsively to determining the bale formation cycle has completed, the ejection mode allowing the tailgate actuator to move the tailgate to the open position.

A system includes a hand-held electronic device and an adapter mechanically connectable to a mobile machine. The adapter is configured to communicate with an electronic system of the mobile machine via a wired connection and to communicate with the hand-held electronic device via a wireless connection. The hand-held electronic device is configured to present to the user via a user interface a plurality of implement identifiers, receive from the user via the user interface a selection indicating one of the plurality of implement identifiers, and emulate operation of the implement corresponding to the selected implement identifier.

DRAPER PICKUP WITH CROP DISTRIBUTION FOR AGRICULTURAL BALER
20220151157 · 2022-05-19 · ·

A pickup unit of an agricultural baler that includes a frame, at least one draper belt, at least one belt actuator operably connected to the at least one draper belt, a first auger and a second auger each being rotatably connected to the frame and located above the at least one draper belt, and a first and a second auger actuator respectively operably connected to the first and second auger. The pickup unit also includes an electrical processing circuit operably connected to and configured for adjusting the at least one belt actuator, the first auger actuator, and the second auger actuator so that a rotational speed of the at least one draper belt, the first auger, and/or the second auger is increased or decreased to evenly distribute the crop material as the crop material is transported to the bale chamber.

Device and Method for Applying a Clip-Style Identification Tag Around the Twine of a Hay Bale
20220153466 · 2022-05-19 ·

A tagging device follows a prescribed method of attaching an identification tag to the twine of a bale as it is formed. The tagging device is sequenced to insert a clip-type tag on top or end of the bale. The tag can alternatively be numbered in a consecutive series, printed with a bar code or QRC code, have an RFID inlay applied to its surface with a index number that relates to information about the bale or has information about the bale written to the tag.

SQUARE BALER IMPLEMENT WITH TWINE MONITORING SYSTEM
20230263099 · 2023-08-24 ·

A baler implement includes a housing defining a baling chamber for forming a bale having a parallelepiped shape, and a knotter system for wrapping and tying twine around the bale. A knotter controller is configured to determine a remaining length of a first twine in a first twine supply, and determine a remaining length of a second twine in a second twine supply. The knotter controller may then calculate an estimated remaining number of bales that may be secured based on the remaining length of the first twine and the second twine. The knotter controller may communicate an output signal to an output device indicating the estimated remaining number of bales that may be secured. The knotter controller may automatically communicate a resupply request when the first twine and/or the second twine are low.
