A round baler having a baling chamber, a wrapping material reservoir, a feed apparatus having an actuator, the feed apparatus configured to convey a wrapping material from the wrapping material reservoir to the baling chamber, a cutting apparatus moveable between a retracted position allowing free movement of the wrapping material and an advanced position to cut the wrapping material, and a braking apparatus for applying a braking force on a roll of wrapping material installed in the wrapping material reservoir, and an actuator for controlling operation of the feed apparatus and the cutting apparatus. The round baler further comprises a tensioning element connecting the actuator to the braking apparatus to control a down force exerted on the roll of wrapping material and so control the tension in the wrapping material.

An agricultural baler includes a hydraulic circuit with a first hydraulic cylinder connected between the first end of the first axle and the chassis, and a second hydraulic cylinder connected between the second end of the first axle and the chassis. At least one sensor senses a position of the chassis relative to the first axle. An electrical processing circuit is coupled with the hydraulic circuit and the at least one sensor. The electrical processing circuit controls operation of the hydraulic circuit, and includes an operator input device for selectively: 1) raising the chassis of the baler relative to the first axle, 2) lowering the chassis of the baler relative to the first axle, or 3) automatically returning the chassis of the baler to a predetermined operating height relative to the first axle, dependent upon an output signal from the at least one sensor.

METHOD FOR DETERMINING A QUALITY OF AN AGRICULTURAL BALE

A method for determining a quality of an agricultural bale produced by an agricultural baler, the method comprising the steps of: receiving a first bale parameter signal indicative of a first bale parameter of the agricultural bale; receiving a second bale parameter signal indicative of a second bale parameter of the agricultural bale, wherein the first bale parameter and the second bale parameter each represents a different physical property of the agricultural bale; determining, based on the respective first bale parameter signal and the second bale parameter signal, a bale quality parameter indicative of a perceived quality of the agricultural bale; and providing an electronic signal representative of the bale quality parameter.

BALING APPARATUS

A duckbill assembly for a round baler is disclosed including first and second opposed elongate plates, the opposed elongate plates being directed towards one another so as to grip a portion of a wrapping material between the opposed elongate plates, wherein a portion of the first of the opposed elongate plates is formed of a manually displaceable material. This has as an advantage that the act of threading wrapping material into and through the duckbill assembly simply entails pulling the manually displaceable portion away from the opposing elongate plate, and dropping the wrapping material between the two elongate plates.

The present invention also relates to methods of producing a bale with the baling press and a bale generated by the baling press and described methods.

A management system for a baling operation includes a vehicle configured to form one or more bales of agricultural material. A computing system is configured to determine bale data including at least a number of bales produced by the vehicle, receive, from one or more sensors, vehicle data related to operation of the vehicle as the one or more bales are formed, and store the vehicle data. An electronic device is communicatively coupled with the computing system and is configured to receive the number of bales produced by the vehicle, receive the vehicle data related to the operation of the vehicle as the one or more bales are formed, and generate one or more bale characteristics based on the number of bales and the vehicle data related to the operation of the vehicle as the one or more bales are formed.

AGRICULTURAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM AND METHODS
