The present disclosure relates to a houseboat assembly formed from a cabin assembly secured to a hull assembly. In some version of the houseboat assembly, the hull assembly may include a runoff flange. The runoff flange may include an inner flange, an outer flange, and a riser extending between the inner flange and the outer flange. The outer flange may extend along an imaginary longitudinal outer flange axis and the riser may extend along an imaginary longitudinal riser axis whereby the riser axis intersects the outer flange axis at an angle. In some versions of the houseboat assembly, the angle is an acute angle. More specifically, the angle may be between thirty and sixty degrees. In some versions of the houseboat assembly, the cabin assembly is secured to the inner flange of the runoff flange. Cross-members and deck boards may be secured to a roof of the cabin assembly.

Marine vessels, including combatant (naval) vessels are produced inexpensively without requiring the use of as many skilled personnel as is conventional. The vessel produced has a high strength metal truss structure (both above and below the water line) capable of carrying major hull loads. A number of curved or doubly curved composite (e. g. GRP) panels produced by vacuum assisted resin transfer molding are fastened by bolts, marine adhesives, and/or rivets to the below water line portions of the truss structure where necessary to handle slamming loads and to reduce water resistance and wake. Substantially flat composite pultruded panels are fastened to the truss structure both above the water line, and below the water line where the resistance to slamming loads and reduction of water resistance and wake are not critical. Necessary equipment is installed within the open truss volume before the above-water-line panels are fully installed.

At the third location, the cabin assembly may be secured to the hull assembly to form the cabin assembly at the third location. The third location may be requested or specified by the customer.

A modular system for building underwater robotic vehicles (URVs), including a pressure vessel system, modular chassis elements, a propulsion system and compatible buoyancy modules. The pressure vessel system uses standardized, interchangeable modules to allow for ease of modification of the URV and accommodation of different internal and external components such as sensors 4800 and computer systems. The system also includes standard, reconfigurable connections of the pressure vessel to the modular chassis system. A standardized, modular propulsion system includes a magnetic clutch, and a magnetic sleeve used to power the URV on or off.

A marine vessel has a hull with a bottom, a bow, a stern, and a propulsion arrangement including at least three propulsion units arranged at the stern of the marine vessel. The marine vessel has a base line and a centerline. The at least three propulsion units include a fixed centerline shaft propulsion unit with a shaft line and a propeller, and two turnable propulsion units with respective propellers and arranged at opposite sides of the fixed centerline shaft propulsion unit for steering of the marine vessel. For improving thrust efficiency, while maintaining optimal steering capability, the propeller of the fixed centerline shaft propulsion unit is arranged at a given distance aft of the stern of the marine vessel.

LNG carrier construction method

A structural block is fabricated with necessary components and structure for LNG storage and/or process. The structural block may be an LNG tank with the same configuration as that in an LNG carrier. The structural block may also be a regasification plant or a liquefaction plant to be used for LNG process. An existing vessel, e.g. an LNG carrier, is cut apart to form a forward section and an aft section. The forward section and the aft section are moved away from each other to form a space therebetween. The structural block is then placed into the space and jointed to the forward and aft sections, by welding for example, to form an integrated new vessel. The structural block provides the new vessel with increased LNG storage and transportation capabilities as well as regasification and/or liquefaction process facilities to meet the increased demand for LNG storage, transportation and processing.
