Wrap Systems for Medical Device Kits
Medical device kits for use in placing, maintaining, altering, and/or removing medical devices in, on, and/or from the body of a patient are disclosed. Such medical device kits can include one or more wrap assemblies for use in the placement/maintenance procedure. In accordance with present embodiments, the one or more wrap assemblies of the medical device kit can include various features to assist the clinician performing the particular procedure. In one embodiment, a medical wrap assembly is disclosed, comprising a foldable wrap body that includes a front surface, wherein the front surface is configured to define a sterile field. A plurality of pockets is included on the front surface of the wrap body. The pockets are configured to contain therein a plurality of medical components. The medical components are arranged in the pockets in a predetermined order of use for the medical procedure.

A medical kit 100 includes a drape 1323. A plurality of pockets (1302,1303,1304,1305, 1306,1307) are disposed along a bottom edge of the drape 1323 in a linear, side-by-side arrangement. A plurality of medical implements (1310,1311,1312,1313,1314,1315) are stowed in the plurality of pockets on a one-to-one basis. Medical indicia (1316,1317,1318,1319,1320,1321) is disposed along each pocket. The medical indicia can include one or more educational prompts that instruct medical personnel how to use a particular medical implement disposed in a pocket to complete a central catheter dressing change.

The surgical instrument includes a surgical instrument body, a RFID label and an adhesive, the surgical instrument body and the RFID label are fixedly connection by the adhesive, the adhesive comprises a first adhesive and a second adhesive; the first adhesive is disposed between a bottom surface of the RFID label and a surface of the surgical instrument body, the other surfaces of the RFID label are covered by the second adhesive, the second adhesive also covers an intersection of the RFID label with the surgical instrument body; and the first adhesive and the second adhesive are different types of adhesives, and an adhesive intensity of the first adhesive is greater than an adhesive intensity of the second adhesive, and fluidity of the second adhesive is greater than fluidity of the first adhesive.

The sterile field may hold surgical instruments or equipment. The present invention relates, in some embodiments thereof, to systems, devices, and methods allowing for an engagement of two or more pharmaceutical vessels or pharmaceutical administration devices in a decontaminated manner. In some embodiments of the invention, the systems, devices and methods of the invention include a housing comprising a first compartment connectable to a first vessel's port; and a second compartment connectable to a second vessel's port, wherein the first and second compartments are engageable with each or integrally connected to each other, and wherein the first vessel is moveable within the housing from a first position wherein the vessel is connected to the first compartment, to a second position wherein the vessel is connected to the second compartment, wherein a substantially sterile aperture of the first vessel and/or second vessel is covered by a displaceable plate, and wherein prior to or at about the time of connection of the first vessel in the second position, the displaceable plate displaces from the aperture, allowing an substantially decontaminated engagement and fluid passageway between the first and second vessels.

A protective member for a medical instrument includes a body portion having an inner side wall defining an interior, configured to receive at least a portion of the medical instrument. The body portion also includes a first end and a second end, wherein at least one of the first end and the second end is configured to at least partially close the respective first end and/or second end of the body portion. The at least partially closed first end and/or second end is configured to be opened for use of the medical instrument, such that the medical instrument can pass through both the first and second ends of the body portion during use, while the inner side wall surrounds a portion of the medical instrument. The body portion is configured for use during a medical procedure using the medical instrument, for example, as a tissue protector or a drilling guide.
STERILE ENCLOSURE FOR A HAND-HELD ELECTRONIC DEVICE AND METHODS OF USING THEREOF
A sterile enclosure to bring a non-sterile hand-held electronic device such as a smartphone or a tablet into a sterile field comprises a rigid frame, a rigid base and a device holder configured to accept the hand-held device thereon. The use of the device holder to contain the hand-held device prior to engaging with the base and positioning the device therein, allows avoiding contamination of sterile components during use. A sterility indicator is also provided to continuously monitor the sterile enclosure for a possible breach in sterility while inside the sterile field.
