Packaging Systems And Methods For Mounting A Tool On A Surgical Device
A method for mounting a tool to a surgical device using a packaging body. A proximal section of the packaging body is articulated about a second boundary relative to a first distal section of the packaging body for removing a proximal end of the tool from a proximal cavity for exposing the proximal end. The proximal end is mounted to the surgical device while a distal end of the tool remains securely retained by first and second distal sections of the packaging body within a distal cavity. After mounting, the distal end is released from the distal cavity by articulating one distal section relative to the other distal section for exposing a first portion of the distal end that was retained by the one distal section. Thereafter, the other distal section is removed for exposing a remaining portion of the distal end that was retained by the other distal section.
MEDICAL ASSEMBLY COMPRISING A MEDICAL ARTICLE AND A PACKAGE CONTAINING SAID ARTICLE
A medical package containing a medical article, including: a support element comprising a hollow support tube and a support cap, wherein the support element includes a first chamber configured to enclose the medical article and wherein the support cap includes a support structure configured to hold the medical article captive; a stopper configured to be coupled to the hollow support tube in such a way that the support element has a grip part that protrudes from the stopper, the grip part of the support element configured to be held by a hand of a person; a hollow protective cover configured to be coupled to the stopper in such a way as to delimit, in cooperation with the stopper, a second chamber inside which there extends the grip part of the support element, the hollow protective cover configured to be separated from the stopper, wherein when the hollow protective cover is coupled to the stopper, a part of the stopper protrudes from the hollow protective cover, and is configured to form a grip end of the stopper that is configured to be held by a hand of a person, when the hollow protective cover is separated from the stopper, wherein a part of the support element is configured to be engaged by force inside the stopper, and when the hollow protective cover is separated from the stopper, the support element remains coupled to the stopper while the support element is also separable from the stopper when a person holds the grip part of the support element and pulls the support element so as to separate it from the stopper.
STACKING DEVICE FOR MESH STERILIZING TRAYS
A stackable sieve tray for receiving medical products, preferably for sterilization, has a sieve tray bottom and upward-extending sieve tray sidewalls arranged at the sieve tray bottom. The sieve tray bottom, on its underside, has an indentation in edge regions that holds at least two sieve trays in position with respect to each other in a length and width direction of the sieve trays when the sieve trays are stacked, the indentation of a first sieve tray engaging the sieve tray sidewalls of a second sieve tray.
Tray for temporary storage of catheters and other coiled surgical devices
A storage tray provides storage for multiple types of wires, catheters, and other instruments used during surgical procedures. The storage tray includes a base and a set of walls forming a basin that holds liquid. A wire containment section within the basin holds multiple coiled guidewires in a channel filled with the liquid. The wire containment section includes an inner wall and one or more wall segments forming an outer boundary of the channel. A wire holder outside the channel holds end portions of the guidewires. Pulling an end portion of one of the coiled guidewires horizontally causes the guidewire to slide along the inner wall for separation and removal from the storage tray.
Surgical instrument with ultrasonic transducer having integral switches
An ultrasonic surgical device comprises a handle assembly, a shaft assembly, and a removable transducer module. The transducer module includes a waveguide, a locking mechanism, and an electronics assembly including at least one button. The handle assembly includes a trigger assembly configured to actuate the button(s) of the electronics assembly when the transducer module is coupled with the handle assembly. The shaft assembly engages the waveguide of the transducer module and is disposed at the distal end of the handle assembly. The distal end of the shaft assembly includes a harmonic blade. When assembled with the handle assembly, the transducer module is capable of providing ultrasonic energy to the harmonic blade.
CONTAINER WITH COVER
A container includes a base, and a jacket adjoining the base and having a peripheral flange which defines an opening cross section which can be closed by a cover. The cover includes first snap-fit hooks distributed about a periphery of the cover for engagement in complementing first latching openings in the peripheral flange to thereby establish a form fit that prevents a movement away from the base and parallel to a vertical axis of the container in perpendicular relation to the base. The peripheral flange has four corner regions, each provided with a second latching opening for engagement of a second snap-fit hook of the cover. The second latching opening has at least one portion configured curved or inclined in relation to both a transverse axis and a longitudinal axis of the container, or has at least two straight portions extending at an inclination in relation to one another.
MODULAR SINGLE-USE KITS AND METHODS FOR PREPARATION OF BIOLOGICAL MATERIAL
Disclosed herein are standardized and optimized, modular single-use kits and methods for sterile or non-sterile preparation of biological material, such as cells or tissue, for immediate use, further preparation, or storage. These single-use kits and methods facilitate and improve a healthcare practitioner's ability to prepare biological material for research, diagnostic and therapeutic purposes in a convenient, consistent, repeatable, safe and effective manner.
EYE DROP DISPENSER STORAGE CASE
A temperature controlled case to store and manage the time-sensitive management of personal eye drops or similar medicine. The case may include a first row of dispenser holding compartments for holding dispensers for the drops ‘to be taken’ and a second row of dispenser holding compartments for holding the dispensers for the drops ‘already taken’. A clock timer to manage the required time intervals during which the drops must be taken may also be included. The case may include side compartments for holding other items (e.g., cotton balls, cotton swabs) that are typically required when a person uses eye drops.
SEAL FOR FILTERED VENT IN A STERILIZATION CONTAINER
A container (10) used for sterilizing medical instruments and the like has a sealed filtered vent. A wall or a lid of the container has a vent area formed by a plurality of holes (12) that pass therethrough. The vent area is surrounded by a convex ridge (16) on an outside surface of the container, with a corresponding concave recess (26) on an opposing inside surface. A web of filter material (36) is sized and adapted to cover the vent area and overlie the concave recess. A cover plate (37) is generally planar, with a vent area formed by a plurality of holes (38) that pass through the cover plate. This vent area is surrounded by a convex ridge (43) that is sized and adapted to correspond to the concave recess of the sterilization container. An elastomeric gasket (127) with outwardly-projecting ridges is secured to at least the convex ridge of the cover plate. A means for mounting the cover plate over the vent area of the container secures the filter material between the container vent area and the cover plate.
ENDOSCOPE STORAGE CART, SYSTEM AND METHODS
A cart for storage of an endoscope is provided. The cart comprises a housing having a slot configured to slidably receive a tray. The tray is configured to store an endoscope, and a timer is coupled to the housing, slot and/or tray. The timer is configured to display increments of time that the endoscope is stored in the tray. Systems and methods are also provided.
