Systems and Methods for Surgical Field Item Detection
Systems and methods are provided for a surgical needle counting device for an operating room. An example system includes a collecting enclosure and a counting apparatus having a sensor configured for determining when a needle is dropped into the collecting enclosure. The counting apparatus is configured to maintain a count of needles introduced into a surgical field associated with the operating room and a count of needles accounted for in the counting apparatus.
AUXILIARY POWER SUPPLY DEVICE, POWER SUPPLY DEVICE, AND MEDICAL SYSTEM
An auxiliary power supply device in which an increase in the size of an entire system including both an auxiliary power supply circuit unit and a sub-power supply circuit unit is able to be curbed is provided. There is provided an auxiliary power supply device configured to be connected to a power supply device, the auxiliary power supply device including: an auxiliary power supply circuit unit configured to supply electric power to the power supply device in a case in which supply of electric power to the power supply device is shut off; and a sub-power supply circuit unit having an input side connected to the power supply device and an output side connected to a load and configured to supply an output voltage to other circuit units in accordance with electric power supplied from the power supply device.
Free standing bag with integrated cutting guard interface
A kit for extracting a tissue specimen includes a specimen container having a proximal rim and a specimen bag operably supported about the proximal rim and depending therefrom. The specimen bag includes a plurality of ribs depending from the proximal rim having a series of mechanical interfaces associated therewith and extending therealong. The kit also includes a cutting guard having a body with proximal and distal ends. The distal end is configured for insertion within the specimen bag when disposed within an incision and the proximal end defines an opening therein configured to facilitate introduction of one or more surgical instruments therethrough. The cutting guard includes one or mechanical interfaces operably associated with the body of the cutting guard configured to selectively engage one of the series of mechanical interfaces of one of the plurality of ribs of the specimen container upon insertion of the cutting guard within the incision.
Insertable cutting guard
A tissue guard includes a body having a proximal end and a distal end and defining a lumen therethrough. The distal end has a long petal and a short petal disposed in substantial opposition relative to one another and the short petal is configured to move between a first position wherein the short petal is disposed within the lumen to facilitate insertion of the long petal within an incision and a second position wherein the short petal is extended relative to the lumen and in substantial opposition to the long petal to facilitate retention of the tissue guard within the incision.
Loop ostomy device
Loop ostomy device including an elongate rod having expanded end portions is restrained beneath an exteriorized loop of bowel by retaining elements that can be removably passed over a portion of the rod to a position in proximity to the bowel. In methods of use, the loop ostomy device, after being deployed through the bowel mesentery, and after maturation of the stoma, is inserted along with the open bowel through the aperture of an ostomy appliance wafer that is fixed to the body wall and into the pouch of the appliance.
Method and system for facilitation of dental-medical procedure tray setup
A method and system for facilitating dental/medical procedure tray setup. The method and system interfaces with practice management software to extract a basic tray setup based on a procedure code, a patient profile and a doctor profile. The tray setup items may be modified/specified by a user. The tray setup is compared with a practice inventory to ensure adequate supply of tray items is available for use during the procedure.
External adjustment device for distraction device
An external adjustment device includes at least one permanent magnet configured for rotation about an axis with a first handle extending linearly at a first end of the device and a second handle at a second end of the device, the second handle extending in a direction substantially off axis to the first handle. The external adjustment device further includes a motor mounted inside the first handle and a first button located in the proximity to one of the first handle or the second handle, the first button configured to be operated by the thumb of a hand that grips the one of the first handle or second handle. The first button is configured to actuate the motor causing the at least one permanent magnet to rotate about the axis in a first direction.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR APPLYING ENERGY TO DENERVATE A PULMONARY ARTERY
A catheter system for ablation of tissue around a blood vessel, e.g., the pulmonary artery, to reduce neural activity of nerves surrounding the blood vessel. The catheter system includes an elongate shaft having a proximal portion coupled to a handle, and a distal portion. The distal portion includes a transducer and an expandable anchor, which may be actuated to transition between a collapsed delivery state and an expanded deployed state where the anchor centralizes the transducer within the blood vessel. The transducer may be actuated to emit energy to reduce neural activity of the nerves surrounding the blood vessel. Systems and method are further provided for confirming that neural activity of the nerves surround the blood vessel has been sufficiently reduced.
Energy control device, treatment system, and actuating method of energy control device
In an energy control device, a processor detects, based on a detection result of an electric characteristic value in relation to an electric energy which is output from an energy output source to an ultrasonic transducer, a gradual decrease start time at which the electric characteristic value starts a gradual decrease after a gradual increase. The processor executes, based on a fact that a time rate of change of the electric characteristic value become greater than a predetermined threshold after the gradual decrease start time, at least one of causing the energy output source to stop or reduce the output of the electric energy to the ultrasonic transducer, and notifying that the time rate of change become greater than the predetermined threshold.
