HOST AIRCRAFT WITH MOBILE DEVICE-BASED SYSTEM FOR COLLECTING AND DISSEMINATING FLIGHT DATA
A host aircraft includes a flight data system, the latter including a mobile device, central data server, and transceiver. The mobile device has a processor, memory programmed with a method embodied as computer-readable instructions, and a radio frequency (RF) communications circuit, GPS receiver, and sensor suite. The sensor suite collects raw flight data. Execution of the instructions by the processor causes the mobile device to process the raw flight data into synthesized data, and filter out human-induced motion of the mobile device from the synthesized data using a filtering model, and thereby generate time-stamped filtered flight data. The central data server is in wireless communication with the RF communications circuit, and receives the time-stamped filtered flight data therefrom. The transceiver, which is communicatively coupled to the central data server, disseminates the time-stamped filtered flight data to a user located remotely from the host aircraft.
Methods and systems for assessing fuel burn levels in aircraft
Herein provided are methods and systems for assessing a fuel burn level of an aircraft for a planned mission. Flight information relating to the planned mission is obtained via a graphical user interface, the flight information comprising configurable number of passengers for the aircraft. A requisite engine bleed level for the planned mission is determined based on the flight information. The fuel burn level is assessed based on the requisite engine bleed level.

Aircraft drive system
The disclosure relates to a hybrid-electrical drive system for an aircraft having two subsystems that are largely independent of each other. A stator winding of a common electrical machine is assigned to each of the subsystems such that both subsystems may be supplied with electrical energy from the common electrical machine. If a defect occurs in one of the subsystems, the drive system may be configured such that electrical energy from a battery of the non-defective subsystem may be transferred into the defective subsystem by utilizing the two stator winding systems.

An air quality sensor includes a detector element array, a processor operatively connected to the detector element array, and a memory. The memory is disposed in communication with the processor and has instructions recorded on the memory that, when read by the processor, cause the processor to execute certain operations including measuring electrical resistance of one of more detector element of the detector element array. A difference is calculated between the measured resistance and a reference resistance, and a determination is made of presence or absence of a contaminant in air communicated to the detector element array from an atmosphere of an aircraft cabin based on the difference between the measured resistance and the reference resistance. Each sensor module is mounted to a clamp that is made specific to a control surface location and embedded with an RFID tag to denote clamp location. The optical components of the sensor modules are selected to enable indication of the linear position of a measurement surface relative to a reference position and then broadcast the measurement results. The broadcast results are received by the central receiver and processed by the data acquisition computer, which hosts human interface software that displays measurement data.
