PARCEL PACKAGING SYSTEM AND METHOD
A system for packaging parcels includes a plurality of parcel packaging stations associated with varying packaging volume capacities. The system further includes a tote delivery conveyor configured to provide transport links to the plurality of parcel packaging stations, for transporting thereto, a tote containing a batch of parcels sorted to a common destination. The system is configured to select a parcel packaging station for the batch of parcels, from the plurality of parcel packaging stations, based on an overall volume of parcels being sorted to that destination. The tote delivery conveyor is controllable to transport the tote containing the batch of parcels to the selected parcel packaging station.
FOOD PACKAGING FILM AND MANUFACTURING METHOD FOR MAKING THE SAME
The present invention relates to a multilayer film, especially to a multilayer thermoplastic film, which may be used for food packaging, wherein the multilayer film according to the present invention may be provided, on its inner side, with a food additive, particularly with a flavoring and/or coloring and/or an aroma producing food additive (such as e.g. a liquid smoke), which food additive is then released and transferred onto the surface of a foodstuff encased in the multilayer film during cooking and/or processing of the foodstuff.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING A PACKAGING MATERIAL
A packaging material is provided, comprising a core material layer and at least one polymer layer being laminated thereto. The core material layer is provided with at least one area being configured to assist in folding the packaging material into a bottom end corner of a package to be formed, wherein the packaging material comprises a first set of crease lines being designed to form a bottom end of the package, and a second set of crease lines being designed to form a main body of the package. The at least one area comprises an intersection of a plurality of crease lines, each having a triangular cross-section, while a plurality of crease lines of the first set of crease lines, each having a triangular cross-section and having a virtual extension through the intersection, are terminated such that they end at a distance from the intersection.
FLEXIBLE TUBULAR PACKAGE FOR EDIBLE PRODUCT
A squeezable, flexible tubular package for an edible product is compartmented to simultaneously hold a first edible product in one compartment separate from a second edible product in another juxtaposed compartment. The package includes an elongated enclosure defined by a pair of transparent, flexible film strips bonded to one another around the periphery thereof by a liquid tight seal; and a membrane situated between the film strips, bonded to the periphery of the film strips by a liquid tight seal, partitioning the enclosure into a pair of juxtaposed, liquid tight compartments. An extrudable, edible product is separately contained in each of the compartments. Apparatus for continuously and successively forming, filling and sealing articulated arrays of such packaged products is also disclosed.
Systems with external heat-seal assembly height adjustment control and related seal assemblies
Packaging apparatus for producing encased products from flat-roll stock using an external user interface (i.e., a handle that is external to a housing holding the heat seal assembly that is attached to a horizontally oriented shaft that rotates a first gear in the housing to rotate an aligned second gear in the housing or an electronic control) that is attached to and/or in communication with (directly or indirectly) a heat-seal assembly with a heat-seal contact member, such as a heat-seal band, in the housing to allow a user to adjust a vertical height of the heat-seal assembly while the apparatus is operational and/or without requiring physical access to the interior of the housing.

Method for providing crease lines
A method for providing crease lines to a packaging material having a bulk layer is provided. The method comprises arranging the material to be creased between an elastic anvil and a pressing tool having at least one protrusive ridge facing the anvil, and pressing the ridge towards the anvil such that the packaging material will be subject to an imprint, whereby the width of the imprint is continuously increasing as the ridge is pressed against the anvil.

APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING STICK CONTAINER
An apparatus for manufacturing a stick container having a pair of filler accommodating parts by processing a sheet-shaped material, the apparatus comprises: a lengthwise sealing unit that bonds side surfaces of the material to each other in order for the material to have an internal space which is elongated in a lengthwise direction; a widthwise sealing unit that bonds the material to separate the internal space along the lengthwise direction; and a filling unit that is configured to fill a first filler and a second filler in the separated internal spaces, respectively, wherein the widthwise sealing unit includes: a top and bottom surface sealing unit that bonds a bottom surface of the stick container where the first filler is to be filled and bonds a top surface of the stick container where the second filler has been injected; and a separation surface sealing unit that bonds a central portion of the stick container after the first filer is filled and before the second filler is filled.
