CROSS SEAL DEVICES FOR PACKAGE FORMING SYSTEMS AND RELATED METHODS
Cross Seal Devices and related methods are provided. A cross seal device for forming ends of packages being formed in a packaging forming system can include an anvil configured to extend transverse to a product pathway of a packaging forming system along which top and bottom sheet materials travel. The cross seal device can also include a track positioned above the anvil transverse to the product pathway. Further, the cross seal device can include a carriage configured to operate along the track. The carriage can include one or more rollers configured to engage the anvil to form a pressure contact between the anvil and the roller so that the top and bottom sheet materials are joined together.

Package and Method for Producing Said Package
The invention relates to a method for mechanically closing, in particular beading, a package for, in particular, food products, which package is made up of at least two foil half-shells which are mechanically closed at their encircling edge sections in contact with one another by means of a closing unit, wherein the closing unit comprises: a package carrier with an outer ring and a package receiving ring, and also at least two closing tools, specifically: a positioning tool for positioning the edge sections, which bear against one another, of the foil half-shells to be closed, and also an attachment tool for attaching the edge sections, wherein the method comprises the following steps: inserting the foil half-shells into the packaging receiving ring, wherein the foil half-shells bear against one another by way of their encircling edge sections, positioning the edge sections, which bear against one another, by means of the positioning tool, attaching the edge sections by means of the attachment tool, characterized in that the package carrier carries the package to be closed during the entire process.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR COMPRESSING AN ELONGATE STACK OF FOLDED TISSUES
A method and apparatus are disclosed for compressing an elongate stack of folded absorbent tissues to form a tissue log. A stack of folded absorbent tissues is transported along a compression path from an input end to an output end, the compression path being defined between first and second opposed transport surfaces provided on first and second compression members. The first compression member is moved towards the second compression member from a first spacing to a second spacing to compress the stack and form the log. The compression path has a length greater than the stack length and during compression, the stack moves along the compression path with respect to the compression members. During this process, the stack will be compressed from a first height to a second height corresponding to the second spacing.

Web-packaging machines with multiple sealing stations
A web packaging machine for enclosing a food product within a food product package has a first sealing station that seals an upper web of packaging material to a lower web of packaging material to thereby partially enclose the food product in the food product package and a second sealing station configured to further seal the upper web of packaging material to the lower web of packaging material to thereby fully enclose the food product in the food product package. A lower web transport conveyor conveys the lower web of packaging material from upstream to downstream first through the first sealing station and then through the second sealing station.
