METHOD OF MANUFACTURING A PACKAGE FOR FLAT PLATES AND BLANK FOR SAID PACKAGE
A blank and a package are disclosed as well as a manufacturing method thereof of a package for flat plates, including: producing a foldable flat blank made of a packaging material; folding the flat blank to form a box-shaped package with open closable flaps; introducing the flat plates into the box-shaped package and closing the closable flaps; in the production step of the flat blank the following steps being further provided: supplying a web of the wrapping material to a punching and sorting unit to obtain strips parallel to a travel direction; punching and separating elongated modular pieces from the strips; folding flat to an L-shape the elongated modular pieces, bringing them close in pairs in correspondence of respective ends; fastening the modular pieces folded to an L-shape in correspondence of the respective ends, forming the blank in the shape of a quadrangular frame.

Shipping system for shipping glass sheets
A shipping system for shipping planar substrates includes a plurality of planar substrates stacked to form a pack and a plurality of interleaving material including substantially spherical beads positioned between the substrates of the pack and configured to carry a load. Substantially all of the beads have a diameter within 25% of D.sub.max, where D.sub.max is a diameter corresponding to a size of an opening of an upper limit sieve used in the shipping system. Also disclosed are a spacer for use in a shipping system for shipping planar substrates, a wrapped system for shipping planar substrates, a method of wrapping a system for shipping planar substrates, and a powder applicator.

Method for packaging a spectacle lens
Disclosed is a method for packaging an optical lens including two faces and a peripheral edge, at least one of the faces having a convexity marked by a peak point, the method including the following steps: a step of depositing a protective strip made from a rigid material at least partially along the edge, the width of the strip extending beyond the peak point of the convex face of the lens; a step of inserting the lens into an envelope delimited by a wall; a step of positioning the lens in the envelope, such that the protective strip acts as a spacer in order to maintain a distance between the wall of the envelope and the convex face of the lens and thus preventing any contact between the wall and the face.
Packaging machine
An improved packaging machine, comprising: a rest surface (2) for supporting one or more blanks (B) intended to form a quadrangular packaging (C); containing means (3), structured for containing a plurality of blanks (B) destined to form the packaging; handier means (4), structured so as to pick up the blanks (B) from the containing means (3) and to arrange them on the rest surface (2), folder means (5), structured so as to fold the blanks (B) in such a way as to form the packaging; a store (31,32,33,34) for each side of the packaging (C); a handier (41,42,43,44) for each side of the packaging (C).
