A medical device navigation system includes a medical device assembly and a navigation device. The medical device assembly includes an adhesive patch configured to adhere to an outer surface of a patient and a tracking assembly coupled to the adhesive patch. The tracking assembly includes one or more reference markers. The navigation device is configured to receive image data representing one or more images from an imaging device. The one or more images indicate a relative position between the one or more reference markers and a treatment site in the patient. The navigation device is configured to determine, based on the image data, a percutaneous insertion path for an injection needle from an insertion point to the treatment site of the patient and output one or more parameters corresponding to the percutaneous insertion path.

QUANTIFICATION AND ANALYSIS OF ANGIOGRAPHY AND PERFUSION

A method to visualize, display, analyze and quantify angiography, perfusion, and the change in angiography and perfusion in real time, is provided. This method captures image data sequences from indocyanine green near infra-red fluorescence imaging used in a variety of surgical procedure applications, where angiography and perfusion are critical for intraoperative decisions.

Various embodiments are described herein for a system and associated method for performing collagen assessment of an object using Photoacoustic Image (PA) data obtained for the object, wherein the method is performed by a processing unit and the method comprises: obtaining beamformed PA image data for the object using at least three wavelengths related to chromophores including collagen, oxyhemoglobin and deoxyhemoglobin, the three wavelengths being less than 1000 nm; performing spectral decomposition on the beamformed PA image data using the three wavelengths to obtain data that is used for generating at least one collagen map; and determining a collagen score for the at least one collagen map.

OPTICAL TIME-OF-FLIGHT IMAGING METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR SURGICAL GUIDANCE AND FLUORESCENCE DEPTH ESTIMATION IN TISSUE
20230047584 · 2023-02-16 ·

A system and method for depth-resolved imaging of fluorophore concentrations in tissue uses a pulsed light source stimulus wavelength to illuminate the tissue; and a time-gated electronic camera such as a single-photon avalanche detector camera to observe the tissue in multiple time windows after start of each light pulse. A filter-changer or tunable filter is between the tissue and the electronic camera with fluorescent imaging settings and a stimulus wavelength setting, and an image processor receives reflectance images and fluorescent emissions images from the time-gated camera and processes these images into depth and quantity resolved images of fluorophore concentrations in the tissue.

Optical tissue feedback device for an electrosurgical device

A tissue sensing device for use with an electrosurgical knife is proposed which comprises a proximal end portion, a distal end portion and a grip portion there between. The proximal end portion is configured for attachment to a housing of the electrosurgical knife. The distal end portion is configured for movably supporting a blade of the knife. A distal end of an optical fiber is arranged at the distal end portion of the device and a proximal end of the optical fiber is connectable to an optical console, so that optical measurements can be performed at the distal end portion.

OCCLUSION DETECTION IN BODY CAVITIES
20230042140 · 2023-02-09 · ·

Degree of occlusion is monitored for an occlusive device configured to occlude passage of fluid between two compartments in a lumenal space of a body of a patient. In some embodiments, changes in an electrical signal measured from the body of the patient are induced by perturbing the fluid; for example, by “tagging” a portion of fluid with a perturbation of temperature and/or composition. The degree of occlusion is estimated based on the measured changes. The electrical signal changes may be indicative of fluid movements redistributing the perturbed fluid among the two compartments; for example, by diffusion, mixing, and/or jetting of fluid.
