Multi-Task Learning of White Light Photographs for a Surgical Microscope
A computer-implemented method for predicting digital images in the form of a digital fluorescence representation together with a further derived representation by means of a combined machine learning system is described. The method comprises providing a first digital image of a tissue sample that was recorded under white light by means of a microsurgical optical system with a digital image recording unit, and predicting a second digital image of the tissue sample in a fluorescence representation and a further representation, which has optical indications about diseased tissue elements. This is done by means of a previously trained combined machine learning system comprising a trained combined machine learning model for predicting the second digital image of the tissue sample in the fluorescence representation and the further representation.
Offset illumination of a scene using multiple emitters in a hyperspectral, fluorescence, and laser mapping imaging system
Offset illumination using multiple emitters in a fluorescence imaging system is described. A system includes an emitter for emitting pulses of electromagnetic radiation and an image sensor comprising a pixel array for sensing reflected electromagnetic radiation. The emitter comprises a first emitter and a second emitter for emitting different wavelengths of electromagnetic radiation. The system is such that at least a portion of the pulses of electromagnetic radiation emitted by the emitter comprises one or more of a hyperspectral emission, a fluorescence emission, and/or a laser mapping pattern.
Percutaneous discectomy kit and method
A method for performing an efficient and thorough percutaneous discectomy includes making into the patient a percutaneous incision, which is a small stab wound, no more than approximately 10 mm in length. A stimulated combination neuro-monitoring dilating probe is passed through an approximately 10 mm or less skin incision and into a patient's disc space to establish a safe path and trajectory through Kambin's Triangle. Once a neuro-monitoring dilating probe is in the disc space, a second dilator is placed over the neuro-monitoring dilating probe and impacted into the disc space. Neuro-monitoring dilating probe may then be removed. An access portal optionally combined with a force dissipation device may then be placed over the second dilator and into the disc space. The second dilator is removed and then discectomy instruments may be placed through the access portal to perform the discectomy.
Care giver display surgical cap to control patient body temperature
A system and method for maintaining a patient's body temperature during and after surgical exposure is provided. A surgical, insulative cap both aids in maintaining the patient's core body temperature at an euthermic range and further incorporates a graphic display panel for providing a remote caregiver informational interface. Vital signs sensors may therefor communicate, either directly or remotely, to said informational interface and allow, access to vital signs information to the caregiver in a convenient manner that does not require diversion of attention from the patient in order to monitor.
SYNTHESIS AND COMPOSITION OF AMINO ACID LINKING GROUPS CONJUGATED TO COMPOUNDS USED FOR THE TARGETED IMAGING OF TUMORS
The present disclosure relates to compounds that are useful as near-infrared fluorescence probes, wherein the compounds include i) a pteroyl ligand that binds to a target receptor protein, ii) a dye molecule, and iii) a linker molecule that comprises an amino acid or derivative thereof. The disclosure further describes methods and compositions for incorporating the compounds as used for the targeted imaging of tumors. Conjugation of the amino acid linking groups increase specificity and detection of the compound. Methods and compositions for use thereof in diagnostic imaging are contemplated.
Method for Marking an Entry Position for an Injection Apparatus in Interventional MR Imaging
A method for marking an entry position for an injection apparatus on a surface of a patient positioned inside a patient receiving region of a magnetic resonance device. The method includes providing a virtual entry position, introducing a marking apparatus into the patient receiving region, acquiring time-resolved MR image data from the marking apparatus by the magnetic resonance device, ascertaining a current position of the marking apparatus based on the time-resolved MR image data, iteratively changing the current position of the marking apparatus using the virtual entry position and the current position, and delivering the liquid from the marking apparatus when the current position matches the virtual entry position.
MOVEMENT TRACKING
Systems and methods may be used for evaluating a patient after completion of an orthopedic surgery on a portion of a body part of the patient. In an example, the method includes capturing, using a camera of the device, a series of images of the patient in motion, determining respective lengths of the body part in each of the series of images based on comparing the body part in each of the series of images to a skeletal model, and identifying a maximum length of the body part from the respective lengths. The method may include displaying an indication corresponding to the maximum length.
Systems and methods for an actively controlled optical imaging device
The present disclosure provides a common-path optical waveguide probe. The common-path optical waveguide probe includes an optical waveguide, a lens, and a reference reflector. The optical waveguide includes a proximal end and a distal end. The lens is coupled to the distal end. The reference reflector is positioned between the optical waveguide and the lens. The disclosure also provides a catheter and an optical coherence tomography system utilizing the common-path optical waveguide probe. The disclosure also provides methods of making and using the common-path optical waveguide probe.
Systems and methods of registration for image-guided procedures
A medical device includes an elongate device and one or more processors coupled to the elongate device. The elongate device includes a steerable distal end and a shape sensor located along a length of the elongate device. While the elongate device is being traversed through one or more passageways of a patient, the one or more processors are configured to, based on information from a sensor, monitor an insertion motion of the elongate device, detect a data collection event, and capture, in response to detecting the data collection event, a plurality of points along the length of the elongate device using the shape sensor. The data collection event is at least partially based on a change in direction of the insertion motion of the elongate device.
