BAG WEB AND METHOD AND EQUIPMENT FOR PACKING ITEMS
A bag web, equipment and method for packing items, liquid or bulk goods in film bags, which are conveyed in a continuous bag web of bag items through a filling station is provided. The mouths of the bags are held open for receiving items, after which the bags are closed and are separated from the web. The bag web includes a zip closure, which is applied parallel to the upper edge of the bag web and is continuous for the entire length of the bag web. The zip closure is coupled to the first guide, which is arranged to retain and guide the bag web in the zip closure along a first section of a conveyor path through the equipment.
TRANSFER DEVICE FOR TRANSFERRING FLAT BOXES CONTAINED INTERNALLY OF A CARTON TO AN INLET LINE OF A BOXING MACHINE
A transfer device raises batteries of flat boxes inside a carton so that one battery at a time is in a waiting position beyond an open upper face of the carton at an inlet line of a boxing machine. A frame is predisposed to translate above the positioning station and the inlet line between a first position above the waiting position and a second position above the inlet line. Grippers on the frame both grip and retain a box battery at two ends thereof and release the battery. The grippers are activated, with the frame in the first position, to grip and retain the battery of boxes at its two ends and, with the frame in the second position, to release the battery into the inlet line.
Bagging machine and method
A product bagging assembly and method of manipulating a web material bag that is operable to create a bag opening that is greater than six inches and which is operable without substantially detracting from product throughput associated with use and operation of the product bagging assembly. In a preferred embodiment, the bag opening/dosing assembly includes a first actuator and a second actuator that are connected to one another such that a position of one of the actuators can be manipulated by operation of the other actuator. The product bagging assembly can be provided as a kit configured for plug and play operation with previously provided bag and product delivery systems.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR DISCHARGING GUIDING ELEMENTS
The present disclosure relates to a discharge apparatus for discharging an assembly of interconnected guiding elements, having a support having at least one support section configured to support the assembly of interconnected guiding elements and the flexible pouch containers carried therein; a gripping unit configured to grip a first guiding element of the guiding element assembly and displace the first guiding element together with one or more interconnected further guiding elements of the guiding element assembly in a transport direction substantially perpendicular to the lengthwise direction of the first guiding element; and a disconnection unit configured to disconnect at least the gripped and displaced first guiding element from a neighboring second guiding element, the disconnection unit having a movable wedge and a wedge drive unit configured to move the wedge between the first and second guiding elements, thereby disconnecting the first guiding element from the second guiding element.
Tear open bag
An exemplary web of preformed bags includes first and second layers, first and second side, first and second side seals proximate the first and second edges, a plurality of transverse seals extending between the first and second side edges, an opening in the first layer, and a line of separation in the second layer, a first line of weakness in the first layer. The first line of weakness has a plurality of gaps having no perforations in a region between the plurality of openings in the first layer and the plurality of traverse seals.
FLEXIBLE CONTAINER AND PROCESS FOR INSTALLATION OF FITMENT IN SAME
A flexible container formed of flexible web material is provided. The container includes four panels forming: a body portion; a neck portion; a flare portion extending from the neck portion; and a tapered transition portion between the body and neck portions; wherein the neck portion has a reduced width and the flare portion has an expanded end. Also disclosed is a method of forming the aforementioned container comprising steps of: biasing the expanded end to define a circumference; moving, via a mandrel comprising a groove, the fitment within the circumference and through the expanded end to a first position in the neck; transversely cutting away the expanded end by advancing preferably v-shaped blades through the neck and into the groove preferably without rotation of the mandrel, container, or blades; moving the fitment to a second position in the neck; and sealing the neck to the fitment.
Automatic bagging machine having rollstock support spool
A rollstock support spool supports rollstock formed from a continuous web of bags of non-uniform thickness along their length. The spool has a hollow core and first and second opposed rims. The hollow core has opposed axial ends, an inner peripheral surface defining a tubular opening configured for mounting over a spindle, and an outer peripheral surface configured to support the rollstock. The rims are located at or near the first and second ends of the core, respectively. A radial spacing between the outer peripheral surface of the core and the outer peripheral surface of each of the rims is greater than a maximum thickness of the rollstock. Also provided are an unwinder assembly incorporating such a rollstock support spool and an automatic bagger incorporating such an unwinder assembly.
