APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR ESTIMATING BODY TEMPERATURE

An apparatus for estimating core body temperature of an object is provided. The apparatus may include: a first temperature sensor configured to measure a surface temperature of an object; a second temperature sensor configured to measure a surface temperature of a material, which is positioned between the first temperature sensor and the second temperature sensor; and a processor configured to obtain a heat flux based on the surface temperature of the object and the surface temperature of the material, configured to estimate a wrist temperature of the object based on the obtained heat flux and the surface temperature of the object, and configured to estimate core body temperature of the object based on the estimated wrist temperature of the object and a heat loss coefficient between a core and a wrist.

System and methods with user interfaces for monitoring physical therapy and rehabilitation

A system for monitoring a joint of a patient includes multiple sensors to be disposed near a joint and to measure or observe actions or physical quantities associated with the joint; and at least one communications module coupled to the sensors to receive data from the sensors and to transmit sensor information to an external device. The system also includes a patient device and clinician device which can be used to, for example, monitor and display information obtained from the sensors, determine range of motion measurements from the sensor data, show progress in physical therapy, take a photograph or video of the site on the patient, obtain a pain score, and include friends for providing encouragement during physical therapy.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PROVIDING INDIRECT MOVEMENT FEEDBACK DURING SENSORIMOTOR FUNCTION REHABILITATION AND ENHANCEMENT

A rehabilitation feedback system is used during rehabilitation of one or more body appendages of a user. The system includes four finger tracking elements and a thumb tracking element supported for movement relative to one another so as to allow a user to perform a gripping motion when the elements are coupled to the fingers and thumb of a user. A biasing member provides a resistance force acting to urge each tracking element towards a starting position thereof. A visual barrier is adapted to hide the hand of the user at a first side of the visual barrier from direct visual sight by the user at a second side of the visual barrier. A sensor at the first side of the visual barrier detects movements of the tracking elements and communicates with an indicator element detectable by the user from a second side of the visual barrier.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR SENSOR-BASED SPORTS ANALYTICS

Systems and methods for sports analytics are disclosed. A system for evaluating athletic performance can include wearable sensor devices configured to be removably coupled to an athlete's body during athletic performance, and one or more equipment-mountable sensor devices configured to be coupled to reference objects adjacent to an athletic performance site such as a goal or equipment. A computing device can be communicatively coupled to the wearable sensor device(s) and the equipment-mountable sensor device(s). The computing device is configured to receive sensor data from each of the sensor device(s) and to determine at least one performance parameter.

VOICE RECOGNITION BASED EVALUATION OF PARKINSON DISEASE CONDITION(S)
20230190177 · 2023-06-22 ·

Systems and methods are provided for evaluating a Parkinson disease (PD) condition or a progression thereof by using voice analysis, and for treating the PD condition. Evaluation of the PD condition or of the progression thereof may be performed instantly or over time by analyzing current voice samples of the PD subject and, optionally, historical voice samples that are stored in a data storage unit, determining pertinent voice characteristics of the PD subject based on the analysis of the voice samples, and evaluating the PD condition, or the progression thereof by comparing current voice characteristics to similar voice characteristics. Treating a PD condition may include, for example, adjusting a drug delivery parameter to a level that is treatment-wise beneficial, for example, in preventing or delaying the onset of “off” periods or shortening the duration of an “off” period, or ameliorating a Hypokinetic dysarthria (HD) symptom or another PD symptom.

CATHETER VALVE DEVICES AND METHODS
20230191080 · 2023-06-22 ·

Devices and methods are described for urinary catheters and catheter valves. For example, this disclosure relates to urinary catheters having valves that facilitate testing of a user’s ability to urinate.

Breathing Synchronization and Monitoring

A breathing sequence may define a suggested breathing pattern. Based on signal data collected by a user device, an initial breathing pattern that includes a cyclic pattern may be estimated. A first period of the breathing sequence may be initiated by generating a breathing sequence element based on a synchronization of the cyclic pattern with the breathing sequence. The breathing sequence element may fluctuate during a second period of the breathing sequence in accordance with a breathing profile associated with the suggested breathing pattern.

Ischemic Precondition Treatment Equipment and Use and Method Thereof for Judging Health Condition of Blood Vessels
20170347897 · 2017-12-07 ·

Disclosed is ischemic precondition treatment equipment and a use and method thereof for judging health condition of blood vessels. A gas way structure (4) is arranged inside a shell of ischemic precondition training treatment equipment. The gas way structure comprises a 5-way device (43). The 5-way device (43) is connected to a left gas pump (41), a right gas pump (42), a left solenoid valve (44), a right solenoid valve (45) and a release valve (48), respectively. The gas way structure (4) can rapidly bring a pressure of an armband airbag to the set pressure value in a short period of time, which is effective in relieving the patients' discomfort and pain when used. It is suitable for long-term use for training. In addition, it also can judge the health condition of blood vessels.

MOTION STABILIZATION BY A HANDHELD TOOL
20170348127 · 2017-12-07 ·

Systems and methods for tracking unintentional muscle movements of a user and stabilizing a handheld tool while it is being used by the user are described. The method may include detecting motion of a handle of the handheld tool manipulated by a user while the user is performing a task with a user-assistive device attached to an attachment arm of the handheld tool. Furthermore, the method may include storing the detected motion in a memory of the handheld tool as motion data. The method may also include controlling, based on the motion data, a motion-generating mechanism of the handheld tool that moves the attachment arm relative to the handle in a single degree of freedom in a direction of the detected motion of the handle.
