PACKAGING OF OBJECTS IN STIFF PACKAGES
A method and a packaging machine for packaging objects in a stiff package, for example in a carton box or in a box, the stiff package comprising a right flap, a left flap, an upper flap and a lower flap. After folding the right, left, and lower flaps in closed position, the upper flap is kept in a semi-closed position so as to only partially overlap the closed lower flap. Glue is then applied to the closed lower flap or semi-closed upper flap. After applying the glue, the upper flap is brought in closed position so that it is fixed to the lower flap. The application of the glue to the lower flap in closed position or to the upper flap in semi-closed position allows adjusting the squaring of the package immediately before bringing the upper flap from the semi-closed position to the closed position, i.e., immediately before fixing the flaps and closing the package.
DIVERTING-FOLDING CONVEYOR SYSTEM
A folding-diverter assembly is provided to: selectively divert a substrate-product combination advancing from a first direction in a predetermined path based upon the substrate-product combination weighing a predetermined weight; advance the substrate-product combination in a second direction, opposite from the first direction; and fold a flap of the substrate-product combination partially over a top surface of the substrate-product combination. A semi-circular conveyor assembly is configured to advance the substrate-product combination in the second direction at a first portion of the semi-circular conveyor assembly, and along a semi-circular advancing path such that the substrate-product combination is advanced in the first direction at a second portion of the semi-circular conveyor assembly.
Continuous motion packaging machine with rotating flights
A packaging machine for placing articles into a carton includes rotating flight assemblies that receive a carton or carton blank, and rotate the carton blank and carton with articles while the flight assemblies move downstream. The flight assemblies each include two fixed segments and one segment that includes a block and associated bracket that rotate as the flight assembly is pulled through the machine by a conveying system. A method includes carton blanks being fed by a carton feeder onto the flight assemblies. Articles are formed into an article group, which is then placed onto a carton blank. As the blank and article group move in a downstream direction, the side panels of the carton blank are wrapped around the article group and the carton and article group are rotated to assist in closing the carton end flaps.

Tool System for A Packaging Device
The invention relates to a tool system for use in a packaging device for packaging food products, particularly hollow chocolate articles, with film packaging, wherein said packaging device comprises a plurality of processing units for processing the film packaging, having at least three tool parts, specifically a tool middle part as well as a tool bottom part and a tool top part, which can interact during operation such that processing may take place. The function of the tool middle part is to receive at least one film semi-finished product of the film packaging being processed and convey it between individual processing units of said packaging device, wherein the tool middle part is capable of interacting with at least one further tool part of the tool system respectively, and each of said further tool parts is a tool part of one of the processing units serving to process the film semi-finished product from reception thereof on the tool middle part to completion thereof as film packaging. The tool middle part has at least one interface which allows it to be compatible with at least one tool part of each of said processing units.

Apparatus and method for forming a carton
An apparatus for faulting a carton containing a group of articles and a method of forming a carton. The apparatus comprises an article positioning system for positioning articles into a plurality of groups of articles and moving the groups of articles along a processing path, a blank handling apparatus for conveying a plurality of carton blanks towards the plurality of groups of articles, and a folding mechanism that is downstream of the blank handling apparatus for folding a portion of the ends of each respective carton blank downwardly around the respective group of articles.

Apparatus for winding, folding and stretching a film about a product, in particular a container containing cosmetic products
Apparatus for winding, folding and stretching a film about a cosmetics container, includes a winding station, in which a film is wound about longitudinal walls of the container so as to form a tubular winding of the film, a sliding plane wound in the tubular winding of film, and a pushing device of a series of spaced paddles for pushing the enveloped container into the tubular winding of film along the sliding plane. A pair of wings are mounted and predisposed rotatably on a corresponding end of a paddle. The wings are rotated with respect to the paddle, so that the wings can first abut a backward portion of the ends of the tubular winding of film and, continuing in rotation with respect to the paddle, can fold and extend the backward portion against the heads of the container during the translation of the paddle above the sliding plane.
