The wearable device includes a ring-shaped body having a hole, an image display unit surrounding an outer circumferential surface of the ring-shaped body, a first ring-shaped bezel and a second ring-shaped bezel respectively provided on a first side surface and a second side surface of the image display unit to be independently rotatable about the hole, a sensor configured to measure a motion, a processor configured to control a first region of the image display unit to have a touch sensing function, and control a second region that is different from the first region not to have the touch sensing function, and a transceiver unit configured to transmit, to an external electronic device, a control signal generated by the processor according to an input signal by a touch on the image display unit or an input signal by rotation of at least one of the first ring-shaped bezel or the second ring-shaped bezel.

DIRECT VIEW OPTICAL CARDIAC CATHETER
20210401271 · 2021-12-30 ·

A device, a system, and a method for diagnosis and treatment of e.g., mitral valve regurgitation. The system includes a catheter that is configured to deflect and/or steer a distal tip of the catheter inside a patient's body, a guide wire that is configured to guide the catheter in an enclosed in vivo space within the patient's body, a proximal device handle that is configured to allow the non-parallel spiral cable to switch back and forth between flexibility modes, and a treatment device that is independent of, yet still within, an instrument channel of the catheter, wherein the distal tip of the catheter further includes an inflatable balloon which may be an asymmetrical intussuscepted shape, and may be attached within a section of the distal tip of the catheter, wherein the distal tip further includes a visualization device for directly viewing an in vivo space within the patient.

SYSTEM FOR TESTING TASTE SENSITIVITY
20210401352 · 2021-12-30 · ·

A system for testing a patient's taste recognition and sensitivity. The system includes a sample selector for dispensing taste test samples to the patient, and a test controller configured to determine which taste test sample to dispense to the patient. The test controller is arranged to receive taste test results from the patient associated with the dispensed taste test samples, and determine on the fly which taste test sample to dispense next, based on the received taste test results. Once a plurality of taste test samples have been dispensed to the patient in this manner, the test controller may then determine a taste sensitivity (e.g. threshold) for the patient based on the received taste test results.

Epidermal Devices for Analysis of Temperature and Thermal Transport Characteristics

Provided are tissue-mounted devices and methods for monitoring a thermal transport property (e.g., thermal conductivity, thermal diffusivity, heat capacity) of tissue, such as skin. The devices conformally mount to the tissue and have one or more thermal actuators and a plurality of sensors. The actuator applies heat to the tissue and the sensors to detect a spatio temporal distribution of a physiological tissue parameter or physical property resulting from the heating. This spatio temporal information may be correlated with a rate, velocity and/or direction of blood flow, the presence of a vascular occlusion, circulation changes due to inflammation, hydration level and other physiological parameters.

METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR FRAILTY DETECTION

Elderly people suffer from health issues, and timely detection can save lives. State of the art techniques either make certain assumptions or require clinical data in order to perform the frailty detection, which affects the quality as well as cause inconvenience to the users. The disclosure herein generally relates to patient monitoring and, more particularly, to frailty detection using pedometer sensor data, PIR sensor data, and door sensor data. The system determines activity levels of the user being monitored, based on data from the pedometer sensors, PIR sensors, and door sensors, and based on the determined activity levels, further determines whether the user has frailty or not.

Passive sensor for wireless detecting of the electric excitation of muscle cells
