A System of mated connectors includes a connector having one or more connector quadrants comprising electrical contacts and a mating connector detachably secured to the connector. The mating connector includes one or more mating quadrants and electrical contacts. The mating connector configured to provide electrical coupling to the connector detachably secured thereto. The electrical contacts of a first quadrant of connector quadrants have a first predetermined pin-out and the electrical contacts of a second quadrant of the connector quadrants have a second predetermined pin-out. The electrical contacts of each quadrant of a first pair of the mating quadrants have the first predetermined pin-out and the electrical contacts of each quadrant of a second pair of the mating quadrants have the second predetermined pin-out.

Intraoperative neural monitoring method

A method for detecting an artificially induced neuromuscular response in a subject includes receiving a mechanomyography (MMG) output signal from a mechanical sensor in contact with a muscle of the subject; applying one or more conditioning filters to the MMG output signal to generate a conditioned signal and analyzing the conditioned signal to identify one or more candidate waveforms. Each candidate waveform meets one or more analog or digital signal characteristic criteria associated with an artificially induced neuromuscular response. The method then compares a first candidate waveform to a second candidate waveform to determine a degree of similarity between the first and second candidate waveforms, and provides an alert to a user that indicates detection of the artificially induced neuromuscular response when the degree of similarity exceeds a predetermined threshold.

Test method development for mass flow identification of occluding small particulates in microlumens

Method and systems for determining acceptance criteria for identification of occluding particles in a lumen of a device are provided. The methods and systems can be used in methods of identifying an occluded device in an inspection method. The acceptance criteria can be calculated based on mass flow measurements of an occluded representative device.

Illumination systems with optical waveguide having diffuser elements

An illumination system for a medical technology therapy and/or diagnosis system is provided. The system includes a light source, an optical waveguide, and an optical element in the form of a diffuser element. The optical waveguide has a first end that is connectable or assignable to the light source and the diffuser element is arranged at a second end of the optical waveguide so that light from the optical waveguide is injected into the optical element. The optical element has a lateral surface covered by a reflector layer at least in a section thereof. The reflector layer includes a mirror layer. The optical element has a light-reflecting area covered by the reflector layer and a light-transmissive area that is free of the reflector layer. Thus, light injected into the optical element is reflected on the light-reflecting area and emitted from the light-transmissive area.

An analytical system for examining a body fluid and a method of operation of an analytical system, typically for blood sugar tests, including an exchangeable magazine (18) as a consumable, which includes a plurality of magazine units (24) that are each provided with at least one analytical aid (32, 34) and with a transport element (28), a hand-held device (12) having a magazine guide (16) for receiving the magazine (18), a transport mechanism (48) that engages on the transport elements so as to transport the magazine in steps in the magazine guide, including a positioning mechanism (50) for positioning an active magazine unit in a predefined functional position, wherein retaining elements (52, 54) of the positioning mechanism can be brought into engagement with transport elements of the magazine.

Electronic Containment System for Storing and Charging an Instrumented Intra-Oral Appliance, and Transmitting Data Therefrom

The present invention is a holding case for an instrumented intra-oral appliance containing recorded data, which charges the intra-oral appliance while not in use and transmits recorded data to storage for review and analysis. The transferred data may be subjected to downloading, validation, storage, analysis, measuring, database fusion (with for example data from other devices), data output, and data recording. Output may be further transferred to a computer, processor, phone, tablet computer, or other hardware for review by a user or technical, research, medical, or other oversight personnel. The holding case can also send data to the appliance including firmware or other onboard operating instructions. The holding case can include additional features such as custom dentition of the user, UV light, or a visual user interface.

Ultrasonic probe and method of manufacturing the same

The ultrasonic probe includes a transducer array that generates ultrasonic waves, a backing layer that is provided on a rear surface of the transducer array, a pulsating heat pipe that absorbs heat generated in the transducer array, and a heat radiation unit that receives the heat from the pulsating heat pipe to emit the received heat to the outside.

Method and apparatus for controlling an eyelid during imaging

Apparatuses, systems, and methods are provided herein to control movement of a patient's eyelid during a diagnostic procedure such as scanning the patient's eye with an ultrasound or optical imaging device. Strips having a non-adhesive portion and an adhesive portion are attached to each eyelid. The patient can then pull on distal ends of the strip to open the patient's eye and press the strips into an eyepiece to hold the patient's eyelids and keep the patient's eye open.
