SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR AUTOMATICALLY PACKAGING AN ITEM
A system, apparatus, and method for automatically packaging one or more articles is disclosed. The system, apparatus, and method processes incoming articles having different and/or similar shapes and in random orientations for packaging. The system, apparatus, and method form shipping-ready customized packages, based, at least in part, on data associated with an individual article and gathered by a detecting device as the individual article moves along a first conveyor towards a packaging station of the system. The customized packages are configured to conform to each individual article's shape and size. The packaging preferably is fully recyclable and is made from paper which is expandable to create a cushioning layer around the packaged article.

PACKAGE CONFIGURED TO HOLD PRODUCTS AND HAVING ACTIVE MEMBER ATTACHED TO AN INTERIOR SURFACE THEREOF, AND METHOD OF MAKING SAME
A package for containing liquid-exuding product is formed of a single sheet of film that is folded and sealed at certain locations. The package can include an active member, optionally in the form of absorbent, that is heat staked or otherwise attached to a portion of the sheet of film such that the active member is located on an interior surface of a bottom of the folded and sealed package.
Method for closing cartridges, supporting structure for supporting cartridge closures and transport or packaging container
A transport or packaging container accommodating a plurality of supporting structures for closures, for transporting or packaging closures for closing cartridges for use in pharmaceutical, medical or cosmetic applications, in which the transport or packaging container is box-shaped and includes a bottom, which is closed or sealed by a seal, upstanding lower side-walls extending essentially perpendicularly from the bottom, a circumferential supporting step extending horizontally from the upstanding lower side-walls, upper side-walls extending upward from said circumferential supporting step, and a circumferential flange formed at upper ends of the upper side-walls; and the plurality of supporting structures for closures is accommodated inside the transport or packaging container.
Liquid capture apparatus for use with a vacuum sealer
An apparatus collects liquid in a vacuum bag for vacuum packaging a product, such as a food product, wherein a vacuum is drawn in the vacuum bag by a vacuum sealer, which also seals the vacuum bag after the vacuum is formed. The liquid collecting apparatus includes a housing configured to be placed in the vacuum bag between the product and an open end of the bag that is configured to be received in the vacuum sealer. The housing includes a side wall defining an interior space and at least one opening that extends through the side wall. The at least one opening is configured so that air drawn out of the vacuum bag can pass through the housing via the at least one opening and exit the vacuum bag through the open end, and liquid can enter the interior of the housing, but is prevented from escaping and thereby captured.

Application device for applying additional elements to packages
Described and depicted is an application device for applying additional elements, in particular straws, to packages, preferably cardboard composite packages, having at least one transport device for transporting the packages along a transport track having at least one applicator adjustable, from a pick-up position for picking up the additional elements, to an application position for applying the additional elements to the packages and back. To facilitate the application of the additional elements at a higher application speed without having to take on considerable losses with regard to the reliability of the application of the additional elements or the complexity of the equipment, it is provided that at least one positioning belt extending at least in sections along the transport track of the packages is provided such that the additional elements applied to the packages are held on the packages, in particular pressed onto the packages along at least a part of the transport track by the positioning belt.
METHOD OF FILLING AN INSULATED SHIPPING CONTAINER WITH LOOSE-FILL ORGANIC INSULATION
A recyclable, thermally insulated shipping container is entirely constructed from organic fiber materials in such a manner that the container is curbside recyclable without separation of component materials. The container includes a corrugated cardboard outer box having a bottom wall, a plurality of sidewalls and a top wall, a corrugated cardboard inner liner assembly comprising a corrugated cardboard inner box having a bottom wall and a plurality of sidewalls, and a corrugated cardboard lid assembly. The outer box, inner liner assembly and lid assembly cooperate to create a plurality of thermally insulated cavities which are sequentially filled and uniformly packed with pre-portioned, predetermined volumes of loose-fill cellulose (organic fiber) insulation to create a consistent insulating value throughout the container.
SEALING TAPE
A sealing tape to be used with a sealing device includes an adhesive surface to which an adhesive is applied and RFID tags are attached; and a non-adhesive surface being a back side of the adhesive surface. The sealing device includes a tape supply reel for supplying a sealing tape to which an RFID tag has been coupled; and a sealing part for sealing, with the sealing tape, an opening of a plastic packaging material holding a product, wherein the sealing part adheres the RFID tag, which is coupled to one end of the sealing tape having the length for one use, to an adhesive positioned on the other end portion of the sealing tape having the length for one use, wherein the RFID tag is broken by the adhesive strength with respect to the other end portion when the sealing tape sealing the plastic packaging material is torn.
