An exchangeable ultrasonic welding module contains an ultrasonic transducer assembly (4) with a horn (5) and an anvil (7). The module contains a member (1) provided with a guideway (8) in a mating guideway (18) on the frame (10) of a filling tube (14). A locking element (11) secures the member (1) and the frame (10) in a fixed position relative to each other.

The member (1) is provided with an element (2) for linear motion of a sliding carriage (3) and an adjustable stop (6) for restricting the carriage movement (3). The ultrasonic transducer assembly (4) is firmly affixed to the carriage (3), whereas the anvil (7) is affixed to the member (1). The frame (10) may contain an adjustable stop (9) for locking the member (1) in a defined position as the member is inserted into the mating guideway (18).

The present invention provides a device for packaging products in a foil package. The device comprises corner forming means for forming a number of folded and attached-together sections of foil material in a foil web, which sections extend outwardly in the longitudinal direction of the foil web, which sections each form a seam on the inner side of the foil web, packaging means, and transport means for transporting the foil web from a supply roll along the corner forming means and along the packaging means, respectively. The device further comprises application means for applying elongate closing elements perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the web to the inner side of the web, wherein the application means are provided between the corner forming means and the shaping means and are adapted to apply the elongate closing elements such that the closing elements cross at least some of the seams formed in the foil web by the corner forming means.

A device for selectively retaining a package opening in a gaping configuration and a package including the device applied to a package body. The device includes a circumferential strip with side seams formed as vertical or longitudinal hinges. One or more tabs extend in a first axial direction from an upper edge of the circumferential strip at the side seams. Each tab is coupled to the circumferential strip with a horizontal or transverse hinge. The tabs are pivotable about the horizontal or transverse hinges in opposite directions away from the opening axis to respective folded-out positions, which inhibits the device from folding at the side seams and retains a gaping open configuration of the device and package. The vertical hinges include thru cuts or line of perforations that go through the entire material thickness of the circumferential strip and the one or more tabs and extend for a majority of the full axial length of the device. The horizontal hinges may be in the form of a living hinge or alternatively thru cuts or a line of perforations.

A method of a film tube bag production includes shaping longitudinal foldings (6) on packing film (8), and attaching a secondary all-round closure (5) on an inner side (21) of the packing film (8). Its longitudinal axis is perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the longitudinal foldings (6). The length of the secondary all-round closure (5) corresponds to the size of an inside circumference of the bag (1). The method further includes shaping of the packing film (8) into the form of the film tube, closing the film tube and creating the folded flat quadrilateral bottom (3), and filling the bag and forming the upper cross seam (2).

APPARATUS AND METHOD TO FORM EDGES IN A PACKAGE MADE OF FLEXIBLE MATERIAL

An apparatus for forming a seal (40-44) along an edge portion of a flexible package (10) that is made from a sheet of flexible material (137) includes an elongated film folding member (102) and at least one heating and/or sealing member (104), the at least one heating and/or sealing member (104) extending along a first heat/seal axis parallel to a lengthwise axis (108) of the film folding member (102). A first engagement end (112) of the film folding member is adapted to contact a portion of the sheet of flexible material (137) during a sealing process and the at least one heating and/or sealing member (104) is adapted to heat the portion of the sheet of flexible material (137) during the sealing process such that the contact between the first engagement end (112) and the portion of the sheet of flexible material creates the seal along the edge portion of the flexible package (10).

Packaging machine that includes a frame, a feed module configured to supply a film, a fold forming module configured to receive the film and for generating at least one longitudinal fold in said film, actuation means with a first actuator to cause the movement of the feed module with respect to the frame, and with a second actuator for moving the forming module with respect to the feed module. A control unit is configured to cause, while the film is being supplied, the first actuator to move at least the feed module with respect to the frame and the second actuator to move the forming module at least with respect to the feed module.
