Mixing system and a method of preparing an oral care composition

A mixing system adapted for installation within an oral care appliance and a method of preparing an oral care composition to be delivered to a mouthpiece of the oral care appliance are disclosed. Some of the disclosed systems and methods allow for the generation of an on-demand oral care composition for use in dental cleaning.

System for introducing pulsation into a fluid output for an oral care appliance

The appliance includes a jet source of fluid, and a nozzle assembly through which the fluid is directed and then out for application to the teeth. A flow interrupter assembly is mounted within the nozzle assembly, such that the interrupter assembly is responsive to the fluid flow to produce momentary successive interruptions of the fluid flow by the action of the interrupter assembly moving from an original position to a flow interrupting position and then returning to its original position as the flow decreases and then is interrupted, due to the fluid flow itself, resulting in a cyclical perturbation in the fluid flow from the nozzle, by flow action alone.

Prophy angle with internal airflow generator

A dental prophy angle reduces the ejection of blood, dental polish, and saliva from a patient's mouth during a dental procedure. The dental prophy angle includes a drive head with an airflow generator is positioned within the drive head. The airflow generator produces an airflow pattern that exits from the drive head. A prophy cup is attached to the drive head. The airflow pattern travels over the outer surface of the prophy cup. The air flow pattern reduces the amount of material that builds up on the outer surface of the prophy cup, thereby reducing the ejection of material from the patient's mouth. In certain embodiments, the prophy cup is transparent to enable a dental practitioner to visualize the prophy paste within the prophy cup.

OVERLOAD PROTECTION DEVICE AND HIGH-SPEED DENTAL HANDPIECE COMPRISING SAME

The overload protection device used on a high-speed dental handpiece includes a valve body, a piston, an elastic member, and a valve plug. The valve body is provided with an air chamber and an air intake passage in communication with each other. The piston is arranged in the air chamber. The valve plug is arranged at an end of the air chamber away from the air intake passage and is connected with the valve body. The elastic member is arranged between the piston and the valve plug. An outer surface of the valve body is provided with a plurality of air discharging holes which is in communication with the air chamber. The piston is capable of opening or closing the air discharging holes when moving vertically within the air chamber. The present invention further discloses a high-speed dental handpiece with an overload protection device.

VALVE FOR FLUID EJECTOR

A valve assembly for a dental suction system. The valve assembly includes a valve body having an inlet, an outlet and a fluid flow path extending between the inlet and the outlet. The valve assembly also includes a valve plug positioned at least partially within the valve body and including a through-passage. The valve plug is rotatable relative to the valve body to selectively alter a flow of fluid along the fluid flow path. The fluid flow path exhibits a varied cross-sectional area along a length of the fluid flow path.

DENTAL LASER APPARATUS AND METHOD OF USE WITH INTERCHANGEABLE HAND PIECE AND VARIABLE FOOT PEDAL

A dental laser system for treatment of hard and/or soft tissue includes a main chamber housing optical and primary fluid supply subsystems, for directing a laser beam and fluid to a treatment area. A hand piece affixable to the main chamber, includes mating optical and secondary fluid supply subsystems. The hand piece can be rotatable or re-orientable about an optical axis within the hand piece. A lock can maintain a selectable angular orientation of the hand piece relative to the main chamber. A coupling can maintain a fluidic communication between the primary and secondary fluid supply subsystems even when the hand piece is rotated or re-oriented. A sensor and controller can sense a selected angular orientation of the hand piece and adjust the main optical subsystem according to the sensed angular orientation, to align the two optical subsystems. The laser may be controlled using a variable speed foot pedal.

A snap-on snap-off drill stop device for boring into a tooth and or in bone. The stop device that impedes insertion of the bore device into the tooth or bone tissue beyond predetermined depths at pre-selected stages of a drilling process by simplifying the tedious process of exchanging drill bits and drill stops for the ultimate size and depth bore.

AUTOMATED DENTAL DRILL

An automated dental drill includes a dental drill housing that includes a mouth piece housing section and a one or more degrees of freedom drive housing section; an end effector drive support having a shaft section that is at least partially positioned in the mouth piece housing section, and an end effector for the cutting of a native tooth or dental appliance to a desired tolerance. The end effector is positioned on the end effector drive support. The automated dental drill also includes a power source that drives the end effector and is coupled to the end effector and a one or more degrees of freedom drive assembly to direct the end effector along one or more degrees of freedom relative to the mouth piece housing section.

ENDODONTIC DRIVING AND OPERATING DEVICE
