Dental drill tool
A system and method for mitigating pain associated with dentistry provides a removal apparatus for removing a portion of a tooth. A desiccation apparatus flows a desiccated gas to the portion of the tooth to desiccate dentinal tubules in a region surrounding the portion of the tooth, generally preventing nerve cells within the tooth from transmitting pain signals associated with the removal. The removal apparatus has a drill head with a body having an axial opening configured to accept a dental burr. An annular passage exists between the dental burr and the body within the axial opening. A chamber in the body is in fluid communication with the axial opening, where a channel is fluidly coupled to an external port and to a source of the desiccated gas to flow the desiccated gas therethrough and expose a drilling region of the dental burr to the desiccated gas to mitigate pain.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DENTAL SURGICAL GUIDE WITH HYDROLIC VALVE
Provided is a system and method for a dental surgical guide for placing at least one dental implant in a patient's mouth. The surgical guide is a formed prosthesis with a contour to fit upon a patient's teeth. The formed prosthesis providing; at least one guide sleeve disposed in the formed prosthesis and structured and arranged to guide a surgical tool into a patient's jaw at a predetermined location, the guide sleeve defining a tool alignment pathway; at least one irrigant port structured and arranged to receive an irrigant line from a remote irrigant source and conduct the irrigant to a spout disposed proximate to each guide sleeve. A hydraulically activated valve may also be disposed within the spout. An associated method of use is also provided.
ELECTRIC DENTAL HANDPIECE AND WEARABLE CONTROLLER
A wearable controller for a dental handpiece system and a dental handpiece system are disclosed. The wearable controller includes a wearable body. The wearable body includes an input and a display, the input and the display for displaying a graphical user interface (GUI) to an operator providing a plurality of operating selections. A battery is electrically connected to the input and the display for powering the input and the display. A reservoir is secured to the wearable body. An output is electrically connected to the input and the display for receiving an indication of an alert.
Predictive maintenance system and method for 1-wire handpiece
A predictive maintenance system and method for a dental handpiece includes a condition sensor for sensing a condition of the handpiece to obtain sensor data and providing wired communication of the sensor data and a device identifier from the handpiece to a delivery unit. The system is configured to store sensor data, a device identifier and a time stamp in data logging equipment to obtain a usage history for the handpiece. The system determines a maintenance condition of the handpiece based on the sensor data and/or the usage history of the handpiece. In response to a severity of the maintenance condition, the system provides a preventative maintenance indication of a future failure for the handpiece or stops operation of the handpiece.
Handpiece maintenance system and dental instruments for predictive maintenance
A handpiece maintenance system and method identifies a dental handpiece and operates in a diagnostic cycle to power the handpiece and determine predictive maintenance condition thereof. The handpiece maintenance system includes a temperature sensor and/or an acceleration sensor to measure the conditions of the handpiece during the diagnostic cycle. The predictive maintenance condition of the handpiece is based on data from the diagnostic cycle and other stored data for the identified handpiece. A system is also configured to determine a predictive maintenance condition of the handpiece based on sensor data read from a handpiece and historical usage data thereof.
Oral Irrigator Handle with Hose Connector Fittings
An oral irrigator handle including a housing and a first fitting, the first fitting including a first fitting inlet in fluid communication with a handle inlet in fluid communication with a fluid source and a first fitting outlet in fluid communication with the first fitting inlet. The handle includes a seal positioned around the first fitting and between the first fitting inlet and the first fitting outlet. A second fitting includes a second fitting inlet in fluid communication with the first fitting outlet and a second fitting outlet in fluid communication with the second fitting inlet. A bottom portion of the second fitting seats on a portion of the first fitting so that the seal engages an interior surface of the second fitting, a flow passage is coupled to the second fitting and in fluid communication with the second fitting outlet.
Coupling device for detachably connecting a medical or dental instrument to a drive unit or a supply hose
A coupling device for detachably connecting a medical or dental instrument to a drive unit or a supply hose for transfer of at least one of data, energy, a driving movement and a working medium between the drive unit or the supply hose and the instrument includes a first coupling element and a second coupling element. One of the coupling elements includes a coupling recess and the other includes a coupling protrusion insertable therein. One of the coupling elements includes a positioning element and the other includes an indentation into which the positioning element can be inserted to position the coupling elements in a defined angular position about a shared axis. One of the coupling elements includes a memory unit for storage of data and the other includes a transfer unit, so that data can be transferred from the memory unit by the transfer unit to the other coupling element.
VALVE FOR FLUID EJECTOR
A valve assembly for a dental suction system. The valve assembly includes a valve body having an inlet, an outlet and a fluid flow path extending between the inlet and the outlet. The valve assembly also includes a valve plug positioned at least partially within the valve body and including a through-passage. The valve plug is rotatable relative to the valve body to selectively alter a flow of fluid along the fluid flow path. The fluid flow path exhibits a varied cross-sectional area along a length of the fluid flow path.
AUTOMATED DENTAL DRILL
An automated dental drill includes a dental drill housing that includes a mouthpiece housing section and a one or more degrees of freedom drive housing section; an end effector drive support having a shaft section that is at least partially positioned in the mouthpiece housing section, and an end effector for the cutting of a native tooth or dental appliance to a desired tolerance. The end effector is positioned on the end effector drive support. The automated dental drill also includes a power source that drives the end effector and is coupled to the end effector and a one or more degrees of freedom drive assembly to direct the end effector along one or more degrees of freedom relative to the mouthpiece housing section.
Oral care appliance using pulsed fluid flow
An oral care appliance comprises: a fluid delivery system for producing discrete fluid bursts by means of a pump (130), a regulator (132) regulating liquid in a pressurized liquid tank (134) delivered via a valve (140) through a fluid delivery path (123) in an outlet member (124), directed to a nozzle assembly (126) from which the resulting fluid bursts are directed to the teeth.
