Disclosed is a method of forming a uniform coating onto a tooth surface, which method includes: forming droplets by spraying an orally acceptable coating material through a spray nozzle, and depositing the droplets onto the tooth surface to thereby form a uniform coating. In the method, the droplets have a volume-averaged droplet size of about 1 m to about 100 m, a spray including the droplets travels from a tip of the spray nozzle towards the tooth surface at a spray rate of less than about 10 milliliters/minute, and the droplets include a film-forming polymer, a therapeutic agent and/or a cosmetic agent.

The invention relates to a dental tool having a shank region, which is formed for coupling to a dental handpiece, and also having a work region, which is connected to the shank region. In this case, the shank region of the dental tool is formed so that there is the possibility of latchable insertion and removal without actuation. In particular, at least the shank region can consist of plastics material. As a result, inter alia facilitated handling of the tool and inexpensive production of the tool are rendered possible.

A trigger is coupled to the body and pivotable between an engaged position, where the trigger engages the ampoule assembly, and a disengaged position, where the trigger disengages the ampoule assembly.

The head part includes a passage connected to the applicator in a fluid conducting manner, the passage further being connected to the container in a fluid conducting manner in an activated state of the dispenser and with no fluid communication being possible in a storage state of the dispenser. A dental dispensing tip includes a body having a first body end, a second body end, and a fluid passageway extending between the first and second body ends. A brush cup is provided at the second body end and has a brush barrel defined therein. A brush applicator is secured within the brush barrel and includes a plurality of bristles, wherein a first end of the brush applicator is received within the brush barrel and a second end of the brush applicator extends out of the brush barrel. A delivery cannula is in fluid communication with the fluid passageway and has a bent end entering the plurality of bristles at an intermediate location between the first and second ends to deliver the dental solution to the plurality of bristles.

A process of whitening a tooth provided by the invention includes the steps of providing a delivery device for mechanical dispensing of a predetermined amount of a whitening composition to an applicator tip; dispensing the amount of whitening composition to the applicator tip; applying the amount of whitening composition disposed on the applicator tip to the tooth to be whitened; and allowing the whitening composition to remain in contact with the tooth for a period of time sufficient to whiten the tooth. Optionally, the process further includes the step of exposing the whitening composition to light. A gum or candy for tooth bleaching is detailed along with methods of use. A device adapted to dispense an amount of a dental whitening composition optionally includes a light source for activating the whitener.
