CLINICAL DISPENSER AND APPLICATOR
The present invention relates to a clinical dispenser and applicator and, more particularly, to a clinical dispenser and applicator that is structured to hold and dispense a micro amount (one to several drops) of liquids/solvents in a clinical setting.
Toothbrush
An improved toothbrush is provided. The improved toothbrush includes first and second flexible anchor portions; a plurality of bristles coupled to each of the first and second flexible anchor portions; and a soft pivot bar operably coupled to the flexible anchor portions. A chewing force applied to the pivot bar causes the pivot bar and the first and second flexible anchor portions to compress against a tooth surface to cause a cleaning action.
Method of Forming a Uniform Cosmetic or Therapeutic Coating on Teeth
Disclosed is a method of forming a uniform coating onto a tooth surface, which method includes: forming droplets by spraying an orally acceptable coating material through a spray nozzle, wherein the droplets have a volume-averaged droplet size of about 1 m to about 100 m, wherein a spray including the droplets travels from a tip of the spray nozzle towards the tooth surface at a spray rate of less than about 10 milliliters/minute and wherein the droplets include a film-forming polymer, a therapeutic agent and/or a cosmetic agent; and depositing the droplets onto the tooth surface to thereby form a uniform coating.
Hands free oral hygiene system
An oral hygiene system for cleaning teeth and gums includes a mouthpiece having at least one arcuate channel adapted to receive and surround the teeth. The mouthpiece includes at least two modalities chosen from a mechanical modality, an iontophoretic modality, and a disinfection modality. The mechanical modality brushes the teeth and gums and dislodges food debris, the iontophoretic modality breaks up plaque and tartar buildup, and the disinfection modality removes the food debris, plaque and tartar buildup. A control system coordinates the transmission of modalities, tracks and records utilization, recording completed and failed treatment cycles, and transmits them to a monitoring system. The monitoring system, which links to electronic medical administrating record (eMAR) technology and patient tracking technology (e.g., RFID sensors, electronic tags), facilitates compliance with recommended oral hygiene regimens and review of compliance by medical staff, assisted living staff, and/or caregivers.
Applicator and method for applying a tooth whitening composition
The method of the present invention is directed to the storage and dispensing of a peroxide containing tooth whitening composition. During storage and subsequent use the composition in the storage chamber must be maintained segregated from the applicator surface. This is accomplished by delivering the peroxide containing tooth whitening composition from the storage chamber through a delivery channel having a length and a cross-sectional diameter sufficient to preclude the migration of moisture and the enzyme catalase from the application surface to the storage chamber. The composition is applied to teeth by means of bristles, a sponge surface or fibrillated surface. This applicator can be used with both aqueous and non-aqueous peroxide containing tooth whitening compositions.
Device for applying emulsion compositions
An applicator for the application of an oral care composition to an oral cavity. The applicator may include an applicator tip and an applicator handle detachably or non-detachably connected to a proximal end of the applicator tip. The applicator tip may include an external ridge, a plurality of internal ridges, and a plurality of internal channels between the plurality of internal ridges.
FORCE SENSING TOOTHBRUSH
A force sensing toothbrush takes the form of a conventional hand-held toothbrush with an integrated capability to determine and alert a user that a proper, effective brushing force is employed. Irrespective of any abrasive medium such as toothpaste and rinse, an often overlooked aspect of brushing is simply the agitation of the brush against the tooth surface and to gingival and sulcus depth for removal of plaque and other soft tooth borne substances. The force sensing toothbrush requires a force of the brush material (typically an array of bristles) against the tooth and gum for determining a range that is effective in dislodging surface and gum lodged contaminants.
Brush for cleaning inside of implant
Devices and methods for keeping an internal cavity of an implant or specifically an internal cavity provided in a fixture constituting an implant in a clean state by a simple operation without injuring the gingiva around the fixture is provided. A brush for cleaning the inside of an implant provided with a twisted brush part in which helical brush bristles are formed around the wire rod by arranging a large number of resin fibers in parallel in a direction perpendicular to a wire rod and then, by twisting the wire rod, an intermediate columnar part to which the twisted brush part is fixed, and a main columnar part to which the intermediate columnar part is fixed, where a length in a major axis direction of the intermediate columnar part is within a range of 0.8 to 2.0, assuming that a length in a major axis direction of the twisted brush part is 1.
Disposable Toothbrush Arrangement
A disposable toothbrush arrangement includes a brush body, a brush head, a brush neck, a pushing arrangement, and a twist knob. The brush neck and brush head includes channels therein to permit the flow of toothpaste into the brush head and out apertures therein. The pushing arrangement is positioned within the brush body and designed to exert a pushing force on the toothpaste. The twist knob is positioned at an end of the brush body and operatively connected to the pushing arrangement and designed to be twisted by a user to actuate the pushing arrangement and push toothpaste out through the head apertures. Once all toothpaste is used, the disposable toothbrush arrangement can be discarded and replaced.
