Fixation base and guides for dental prosthesis installation
11173016 · 2021-11-16 · ·

Apparatus and method for installing a multi-tooth dental prosthesis in one session are shown and described. A first tool attaches to the jawbone, and serves as a foundation for subsequently used guides. Existing teeth and dental fixtures are removed, and the bone tissue is removed to accommodate the prosthesis. Subsequently, a drill guide is used to drill implant holes. An abutment guide is then used to place abutments. Copings are then installed. Next, the prosthesis may be installed and cemented to the copings. A resinous filler material may be applied to fill gaps and holes in and between the copings and the prosthesis, and is sanded smooth. The first tool, the guides, and the prosthesis are predesigned and prefabricated based on images taken of the patient anatomy.

METHOD FOR PRODUCING DENTAL FITTING BODIES AND WORKPIECE FOR THIS PURPOSE

In the method for producing medical, in particular dental fitting bodies with a specified or custom three-dimensionally curved outer contour or preform of the fitting body with a rough outer contour, which has an allowance relative to the outer contour, a workpiece, from which the fitting body or its preform is produced, is machined in a material-removing manner by means of a tool engaging in the workpiece. The tool path has directional components transverse to the run of the contour to be produced and the cutting edges have a defined geometry. The tool engages into the workpiece at a cutting arc angle alpha of the circumferential surface of less than 90° on average and at an insertion depth of at least twice the tool diameter (D) and the machining of the workpiece occurs along a tool path with directional components contrary to a machining direction following the outer contour.

Dental treatment training apparatus and dental treatment training system

A dental treatment training apparatus allows practice of complex treatments involving high accuracy and skill levels. A dental treatment training apparatus for providing a simulated treatment in which a treatment instrument is applied onto a tooth model includes a display unit that displays, in a superimposed manner, 3D image information based on predefined 3D information about the tooth model and the treatment instrument on a 3D view image, a position detector that detects 3D positional information about the tooth model, the treatment instrument, and the display unit, and a control unit that causes the display unit to display, in a superimposed manner, 3D image information corresponding to an item selected on a superimposed selection operation display for allowing selection of an item associated with the simulated treatment based on the 3D positional information detected by the position detector.

The palatal gingival graft harvesting device is a gripping tool for holding and manipulating palatal gingival grafts. The palatal gingival graft harvesting device includes a first arm having opposed first and second ends, and a second arm also having opposed first and second ends. The first arm and the second arm are pivotally joined to one another at a pivot joint adjacent the second ends thereof. The first end of the second arm has an opening formed therein for receiving a tip of the first end of the first arm. First and second bifurcated, U-shaped gripping jaws extend orthogonally from the second ends of the first and second arms. Central portions of the first and second arms are selectively and releasably lockable to one another to clamp the graft between the gripping jaws.
